No blueprint copying or researching for new capsuleers

I noticed new pilot FAQ released 23.12.2013 and I read it through. I noticed that there's no mention about earning ISK with laboratory system (copying blueprints, researching blueprints).

Is this ever going to be fixed in EVE? Thanks to long queue for lab slots new capsuleers cannot use laboratory system or it takes insane amount of time to get anything done. When is this going to be fixed?

Long time ago I made suggestion to forums that there could be limit how many laboratory slots can be used in high sec / account. This would force people to go low sec or null sec researching blueprints if they want lots of work done and it would release high sec research slots.

Second suggestion could be somekind of deploydable structure that allows researching blueprints. This structure could allow public access to blueprint researching. Current POS structure doesn't work because it doesn't allow public access to research slots and starbase is too expensive for just blueprint researching.

Long time ago there were three starting professions you chose in EVE. One was mining, one was military and one was blueprint researching. This blueprint researching is still not available in EVE because of insane queues.

Are there any plans to fix this problem? CSM or DEV response appriciated.

I was not aware that the gates to the many, many lowsec systems with open slots came with an age limit. That's an outrage!

Yup, fairly logical reason for that

The "current POS structure" is "somekind of deploydable structure that allows researching blueprints" (sic). If it allowed public access, the slots would be full and you'd be back where you are today.

You have options.

1. Wait in line for a slot. I've never actually tried this.

2. Fly to a remote place and wait in a shorter line.

3. Buy a BPO already researched.

4. Use a BPO research service (see Sell Orders forum).

5. Join a research alliance (not sure if New Eden Research is still going).

6. Anchor a small highsec POS with two or three labs and research at will. This is the route I took very early on. There are some things to learn, but it's all well documented (by third parties, of course). If standings are a problem there are ways around it (buy a corp with standings, hire a standings booster, get on the waiting list for EACS free corp standings boost, etc).

Remember that if research was made easy for you, it would be made easy for everyone, and then you'd have much more competition. The difficulties of EVE are profit opportunities.

OK, I give up: where is the New Players FAQ? What?

I'm a player with 5+ years of experience, and for my life, I can't find the bloody thing in any of the places I've figured on my own. But sure a new player will find it easier than I, so, where's a noob when you need it? Cry

Yes, I had that problem, so I solved it (because CCP had already provided the tools to do so).
It wasn't very hard and age wasn't really an issue.

THIS wouldn't be an issue if there weren't supid lying vets telling new players to avoid lowsec completely.

confirming we need more new players flying around lowsec with blueprints.

I've always said the per-hour fee of research and manufacturing jobs should be tied with how busy/available/queued-up they are.

Step one: Get some faction standings
step two: Train anchoring and slap up a Tower in 0.5 highsec.
step Three: online the Tower and add some moblie labratories
step four: Rent an Office in the same system
step five: Train Scientific networking lvl 1 and use Your corporate hangar to Research/copy/invent from Your bpo's.
step six: ???
step seven: profit!!?

Like everything in eve, you better off joining a decent corp with the same goals as yourself. They will have all the necessary resources to make the game fun and easy. EVE is a MMO after all. You could also put up your own POS, there are people who will help with your corp standings to make it possible...

According to ancient astronaut highsec theorists / carebear scholars, entering a system below a .5 is instant death.

It is strange that I can consistently run from highsec trade hubs to deep null in untanked unfit noobships using untrained alts. Maybe im the exception that proves the rule... or maybe.... aliens built the pyramids to use as power stations to refuel their intergalactic space submarines.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You never had lab slots so good.

Getting a lab slot in 2003 was much harder before POS and the queueing system when pilots would hoard lab slots. You used to rent lab slots by the week and as long as you ran a research job from occasionally and payed your bills on time you owned the slot permanently.
