If you want to make vanity items for CCP, then just do it. Model them, texture them, and post your results for everyone to see in GD, on youtube and in a blog. CCP will use them if they're good and if you get enough community attention. And you will have done a great thing for the Eve-O community. But asking CCP to stop giving out gifts for you to do this is silly.

Just do it. Eve needs a modding community. You could be the start of it if your willing to put the work in.

Oh listen to all the ungrateful children, you sound like that kid that got a Iphone black instead of the Iphone white. CCP made a different and more fun way of giving gifts this year, when they don't have to give you anything at all! If you don't like your gifts then don't come here whining like a spoilt brat.

I'll admit I was peeved at first, but only because the gift claiming interface made me think I'd got some Leopard brand snowballs and I didn't realize there was a ship. The speedy shuttle is cool, although I wish they'd given it a more distinctive paint scheme.

That wasn't the point of my post.

The point was that the ingrates need to STFU. Not only are lots of people tired of hearing them... but it's just plain rude to recieve a GIFT from someone, and flatly telling them "Your gift sucks, and you're an a**hole". I honestly want those people to quit the game and never come back.
Let them go play WoW, where the players don't get free gifts from the devs, at all. Maybe they can gripe their way into actually getting what they want, there, since that game caters to the dregs of nerd society and makes sure their feelings are as intact as possible.
