On December 27th at 17:00 EVE Time, members of the Community Team and ISD STAR will be organizing and FC'ing an official New Player Training Session Exploration fleet. We invite all new players that are interested in checking out the riskier parts of New Eden to join us, have fun, and learn a thing or two! And by risky parts, I mean wormholes.

We aim to have two fleets for this session. One fleet will be for members of the Caldari or Amarr races, the other for Gallente and Minmatar characters. This is to minimize the risk of negative standings affecting your presence in the fleet. The fleets will form at the following stations
1. Caldari & Amarr – Litiura I - Caldari Constructions Production Plant
2. Minmatar & Gallente– Ivar IX - Moon 4 - Brutor tribe Bureau

You may come in any ship you wish, but we highly recommend nobody show up in bigger ships than Cruisers because of mass problems. If too many members of the fleet are in big ships, we may end up closing any wormholes we are attempting to get the fleet through. Additionally, we will be providing a tech 1 combat frigate of the applicable racial variant at the muster points fitted with meta 1 modules. You may only take one ship.

We will be limiting fleets to 100 people in order to keep the fleets manageable. If more than 100 people come to one fleet rallying point, we will direct some to travel to another rally point. In the event there is a massive turnout, we may form secondary fleets that will be led by ISD STAR.

Any player is welcome to come, regardless of their character age. However, younger players will be given preference for joining the fleets if we reach our caps.

We will begin gathering players at 17:00 EVE Time with the intent to depart at 18:00 EVE Time. We will fill the fleets on a first-come, first-serve basis (with the above caveat for character age).

We will utilize EVE Voice to issue fleet commands to players. We highly recommend you have a headset or speakers to listen to commands. However, in the event you do not or cannot, we will also be using fleet chat and fleet broadcasts to relay commands.

Any attempt by players to join the fleets to spam or otherwise disrupt proceedings will be dealt with harshly.

Please be aware that by joining the fleets, you agree to the following risks:
1. You may lose security status for firing at other players.
2. You may gain negative standing with other player entities for attacking them.
3. Any ship you bring and all of the assets in its cargo hold might be destroyed by other players or NPCs and lost, so please only bring what you can afford to lose.
4. Your pod may be destroyed, so please make sure your clone is up to date and you are willing to lose any implants you have plugged in.
5. You might find yourself lost in a wormhole with no way to get out of it. In that eventuality, you must be prepared to self-destruct your ship and your pod in order to get back into empire space as the Game Masters will not move you back.
6. Be prepared to have an awesome time and lots of fun!

I will immediately add that there is a large possibility that we might run into other players in any wormhole we go to. Inhabitants of wormholes might not take kindly to us treading on their home-ground and we might encounter PVP combat, but that is just part of the fun! NPC's and wormhole inhabitants alike will feel our wrath!

I'd also suggest that you omni-tank your ships for all damage types. Sleepers do all types of damage, so You'll have to fit accordingly

Had a lot of fun too. Highlight of my night was killing an AFK venture in a C4 wormhole that was actually watching my stream as we warped in to kill him!

Thanks CCP Gargant, Phantom and the ISD crew for setting this up. I had a blast, the singing was clearly the high point.

My write-up of the event can be found here.

Hello everyone,

New player and first post!

I learned about this event from a jump gate news billboard and became very interested. I've only got about 1.5 weeks under my belt and figured I would wait for the next one. At the time of the event all I had was my trusty Probe which I figured wasn't worm-hole worthy.

Question: How many newbie pilots attended with their rookie ships? Such as a Reaper?

After thinking about it in retrospect I should have just shown up and checked it out!

PLEASE do another one of these. I am very eager to learn about EVE outside of 0.8 security! ha ha

Even though I felt too nervous to attend I want to say a big THANK YOU to EVE for doing this. I hope I will find out about the next one and attend!

Hi Rakuda and welcome to EVE!

It actually didn't matter about the state of your ship because CCP provided basic T1 frigates fitted for tackling and the whole thing ended up being enormous fun as well as very educational for someone like me who had never been in either a fleet or a wormhole.

Hope to see you there next time :)

Wow that sounded awesome, and I read Epigene's write-up and I really missed out! I didn't know that ships were provided, but I'm sure by the next time you guys do this I will have enough ISK to spare for a ship of my own!

Is there some way I can sign up to a Newbie Newsletter ? to be notified when the next N00b Exploration event is put on? I've subscribed to this topic so if its posted here I'll find out.

After reading that write-up .... WOW I can't WAIT to get involved with this!

Thanks again!
Rakuda
