Please include yet another skill to recover the lost speed for warp on bigger ships.

This warp till Christmas is getting old fast.

Nothing fancy, just what we lost in speed from the last X-Pack.

These skills already exist. They're called Astronautics Rigging, and Cybernetics. They allow you to fit Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer rigs and insert various warp speed implants, respectively.

Freighters make me die a little inside...

Just a minigame to play while waiting between jumps. Or perhaps a feature length movie.

You can get a Battleship up to around a standard frigate warp speed if you really care to now with rigs & implants.

So... No new skill. Because any new skill would also impact interceptors and leave everything the same relatively, make even more ship classes capable of insti appearing on grid from beyond deep scan range, and become a mandatory train for new players making it longer for them to get to the interesting stuff.

buy ascendancies.

And give freighters some rig slots at least.

id support this but with grid load time being directly related to your warp speed then it could get pretty crazy if an interceptor pilot or some such trained the skill.

I think giving freighters rig slots would allow you to fit the cargo expanders, raising the Charon's cargo capacity to over 1,000,000, and allowing carriers and dreadnoughts into high sec.

I'm 13 and I play EVE. I hope that doesn't change the way you fly in fleets with me. :3

I'm pretty sure the smart people at CCP can figure out how to handle this.

If only CCP had given us the ability to manufacture implants that did this.

If only CCP had also provided sites that give us the BPCs and parts for these implants.

If only there were rigs that could be built with lets say, mission salvage, that would to this as well.

If only there were also existing implants that did this too.

Sigh.

If only.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Would only apply to pre-patch speeds, post patch. I would not want to improve over what we have now for the faster ships and cause more tears of unfair EVE play... right?

Exactly what's wrong with that?

Pack up and use the gate to move to a new system to mine and rat in a carrier AFK.... I see win for everyone all around.

I say lets have small caps in high upto 0.6 space, but meh... that's another discussion.

Nothing - except it would allow capitals to be hauled into high-sec.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

insta appearing is impossible with new system because deceleration speed is capped so that skill will have greater effect on slower ships than on inties.

If CCP were to uncap deceleration speed to... let say root power of 4 (or 3) of acceleration speed and introduced warp speed skill - it would speed up things a bit (a lot) without instant appearing on grid issue.

The entire point of the change was to make larger ships slower. If they hadn't wanted that as an effect, they wouldn't have implemented it that way! Do you really think they are just going to slap in a new skill that rolls back their changes for larger ships over 5 skills levels?

I mean, really?

No. Big ships are slow for a reason. Get used to it.

That is wrong. Point of change was to differentiate fast warping ships from slow ones so that interceptors could... you know... intercept. Warp speed skill with 2-3% per level wont change that intent.

Actually it was to make warp speed and acceleration actually scale properly.
Most of the warp speeds weren't actually changed.
And 2-3% per level will affect fast ships MORE than slow ones. Percent based factors always affect big numbers more.

We don't need new skills, we don't need additional RIGs. Makes easy things much to complicated.

A return to the pre Rubicon warp speed for Freigters, BC, BS and Orca to make them useful again just need a change of an attribute in the database of the game.

And discussions about this already exist:
