Happy holidays everyone! We've successfully upgraded our DB to the latest Rubicon SDE. Also, our entire database performs way faster than before and API updates have been optimized dramatically.

We've also deployed a completely new news section for you - providing you with dev information and market discussions later on. Our next big step will be the unified development environment. Read about it here.

As always your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Have fun,
zweizeichen

Hey,
on April 7th 2014 security researchers unveiled a severe vulnerability in OpenSSL's code which allowed attackers to extract potetially sensitive information from arbitrary servers running vulnerable verions of OpenSSL (which included the most recent ones available in most linux distributions' package sources).

As we are also using OpenSSL+nginx for our encrypted communication, Element43 was vulnerable, too. However we deployed the fixed version of OpenSSL almost immediately after it became available. Since our service was/is configured to provide robust forward secrecy, even an attacker in possesion of our private key would not be able to decipher data intercepted between you and our server. All certificates have been reissued and we also switched from a RapidSSL single domain certificate to a GlobalSign wildcard certificate which they kindly provided us [free of charge](https://www.globalsign.com/ssl/ssl-open-source/). This means that you'll be able to access news.element-43.com via SSL now Big smile

There is a *very very low (like really low)* chance that our services were actually compromised. Nevertheless we highly recommend you to update your password.

Good things come to those who wait! Smile Today we successfully deployed the Rubicon 1.3 update. As always you can obtain the latest Element43 compatible SQLite SDE from

http://files.zweizeichen.org/dump.zip

If you are upgrading an existing installation, please remember to pull the latest changes from our main and the icon submodule. Please also update the pip environment for a flawless import experience.

Also try our new virtual dev box! https://github.com/EVE-Tools/vagrant-element43

Enjoy!

Hey! After it took us so long to update to Rubicon 1.3 - we deployed the Kronos 1.0 SDE within hours. As always you can obtain the latest Element43 compatible SQLite SDE from

http://files.zweizeichen.org/dump.zip

Today's update only affected the SDE. The icon and image updates will follow once CCP releases them.

Stay tuned for more updates coming out next week. Have fun!

Been using the site more and more.... it looks absolutely amazing!

I did have a few suggestions.

In the dashboard, where you compute profit, may I suggest not going off of just wallet balance (I'm assuming that's what you're referencing) but looking at sell orders total + isk in escrow + wallet isk or something to that effect...

Also on the main page when you are logged in, under management tools there is a link to sign up.

I am looking to get into some application development, and have been thinking about how to go best about finding the data that I would need. In the API section, I'm not able to follow along particularly well what all the end points are trying to highlight. May I suggest you post an example, and how to make an API for current buy / sell price in a specific station?

Thanks for your hard work, this is an amazing tool.

@Crimson Firebird: Thank you for your feedback. The profit calculation is a thing we definitely want to improve - especially with taking assents into account. The REST API page is a little confusing to say the least. If you just want to use pricing information, you could try the legacy API first. I've been quite busy lately so sorry for the late reply.

We just imported the Crius 1.6 static data export. Unfortunately we had to disable the manufaturing calculator due to the big changes the expansion introduced for industry. As always you can obtain the latest Element43 compatible SQLite SDE from

    http://files.zweizeichen.org/dump.zip

This time we updated all the images as well as the database model, so keep in mind to migrate eve_db before applying the update to your local instance.

Hey! We just imported the Phoebe 1.0 static data export. As always you can obtain the latest Element43 compatible SQLite SDE from

    http://files.zweizeichen.org/dump.zip

No major updates to the DB's structure this time, however the image export's update has been delayed, as I'm currently streamlining the static data deployment process for Element43. After all having 60,000 binary files in a Git repository is no fun at all.

Also, as you might have noticed, our image CDN is online now.

First time I ever see this, I'm definitely going to check this out!

No SSO support though? Any plans to use it for authentication?

Bad news everyone: looks like we killed our server's HDD! Sad

We've taken all services offline and are trying to back-up all the data we can. Normally we conduct a monthly full backup of our database - of course our current backup is a month old - I would have made a new backup today. So - worst case scenario: we'll be back in 2-3 days with data about a month old. Best-case: we manage to extract our database from the faulty drive and only loose a couple of days worth of data.

    Stay tuned!

I was able to extract our database so we did not have to go back to a 31-day old backup.

Fortunately our former gracious hardware sponsor Snipa also returned and provided Element43 with a new home. The new machine is way faster than the old one :D

I hope you do not mind the downtime.

Merry christmas - 2015 will be an exciting year for us all, so stay tuned!
