Fraps full screen recording not working

I am unable to record eve online in fullscreen mode using Fraps.
It works in window mode, but not in full screen mode. When going into fullscreen whilst recording, the recording just freezes, and if i try to start recording whilst already in fullscreen, it records the window behind Eve.

I have searched the internet and forums but have found nothing or just unrelevent old information from 2007 about it not working because of single core processors.

I am using Fraps version 3.4.6 and have a quad core processor (if that makes any difference)

Thankyou :)

have you tried using fixed window mode?
it makes it look full screen but in windowed mode

That's very strange.

Normally I would recommend setting EVE to full screen, logging out, start Fraps, start EVE and try recording from there.

If that fails, then you should contact Beepa and ask the question directly to them - but I've never heard of this issue and have been a beta-tester for Beepa for years.

In the back of mind I recall something similar, that was resolved through updating someones BIOS due to a MB issue.

Rule of thumb is; open Fraps before the app and it should work fine.

The quad-core is not a problem as the affinity=1 command line was removed in 2008.

PS: Current version is 3.4.7...update?

Thankyou everyone very much.
I have managed to fix it by AlleyKat's sugestion of starting Fraps before opening the application, thankyou! as previously it was just recording the desktop and not showing the counter in-game. Now as it shows the counter in-game i can record both fixed window and now full screen mode. (probably why you have an option to run fraps when windows starts ^.^)

Thanks again Big smile

I would imagine you had _another_ D3D or OpenGL window (Java application normally run in that mode). Desktop in Vista/Win7 could fall into same category, though...
