Knowing CCP and the past 4 yrs I've been playing, I wouldn't be surprised if the best surprise is yet to come.

I do hope CCP has a script that looks for who has been really naughty and complainy though and sets all their characters to get Carbon instead of whatever it is they have planned.

What I'm trying to say is there are a lot of grown folks on the forums who are less mature than 10 and 9 year old girls.

How does that make you feel?

You lot: "But, Gara... we pay 15$ a month to play this game... we deserve rewards."

Me: "Ishkabibble*! First of all, my daughters have to put up with my ridiculous antics. You have it easy. If you think I'm insufferable on the forums, you should see me in real life. Cartoon characters are more realistic than me. Second... it's gotta be that "everyone gets a trophy" crap my idiot country has been doing that causes this stupid mentality. This is EVE. "No Child Left Behind" has no power here. You do NOT get a trophy for participating... you get to update your clone and buy a new ship. Post your loss, and HTFU."

I just don't give my kids crappy, unthoughtful gifts.
Never had a problem..... hum....

Considering things in the new expansion, the fact that some of the gifts are T2 and most rather useful and we haven't even seen them all, to say nothing of the effort in presenting them, only a complete ******* could call this thoughtless.

You should just send them to your account management page.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

When I was 12 and a bit unruly, my mom thought it'd be funny to hide my real gifts, and put a present under the tree nicely wrapped for me that contained a rock. That's R O C K, as in a stone. not a Rohk. =)

She got as a reaction me throwing a temper tantrum. She got a good laugh. This story ends there and not with the rock through a window. I wasn't that terrible of a kid.

The Rock was still better than the sweater.

Edit:
My mom was good at getting video evidence, but it is all on VHS, we had one of those huge RCA cameras from the early 80s

its not about being disrespectfull or that you need gifts. its about if you give something then let it be usefull. or unique.

Not a pile of crap

for me th eonly usefull gift is the shutle.. as you can keep it there if you are ever in need of an ship and there are not any . you can redeem it and get the hell out :)

You might want to Google the history of Christmas giving. It was mostly trinkets and gewgaws until the post WWII era of massive consumerism.

And all the gifts so far ARE useful. You can use the modules etc or sell them for isk or refine them for minerals.

The extreme entitlement some on this board shows is embarresing. CCP didn't have to give us anything during these days leading up to christmas. I can imagine vets already had all the stuff CCP gifted us, but personally, as a new player, they have been great. And everyone have been able to enjoy the fedo! Further, vets with entitlement syndrome should postpone their moaning until they know what we all get on the 24:th. I presume it will be something special most of us can use/enjoy. And even if the item recieved on the 24:th is something you might already own, or don't need, you got to enjoy the yule-lad stories and I personally wish to give CCP a big thumbs up for their effort =)

It's all the Baby Boomers' faults.
Now we have Black Friday, poverty wages, $80,000 in student loans (unless you join the Army and go on GI Bill), the crappiest economy since the Great Depression and the richest politicians in this sadsack stealth-fascist country's history.
Gratitude used to be a thing. Respect used to be a thing. Now they give you a medal for riding the bench in soccer, even if your team came in dead-last, and they call it "progress".

Is it really any wonder that the people most likely to get irritated at the spoiled brats, are people over 30? Well, and Nordic folks.... who are (let's face it) just plain better than most Americans.

Shut up and play the game. CCP is rendering a service, and they do it better and more attentively than any other MMO developer in the world. That's gift enough.

As for the asshat who brought my parenting into question... I'm probably old enough to actually be your father. Go to your room.

TL;DR = get off my lawn.

I'm going to laugh at all of them if CCP was going to give us new ships and limited access to nerfed Jovian hulls, but saw the squalling of the gimmie-gimmies and said "nope.... they're not ready".

YOU, my sad friend, are one of the most immature, demanding, and self-entitled people in the whole game, and one of the primary targets of this thread. I'm glad you showed up, because that scenario dialogue was actually specifically directed at you. If I had it my way, you would be near the top of the list for "people who get nothing" this year.

sigh...ok...
Not sure what I did to be immature, it's not like I was making personal attacks on someone for expressing their opinion.

As for demanding and self-entitled, not sure on that one either. I've said that crappy gifts are crappy, but I've never said we should all get titans, or I was owed anything.

As far as me not getting anything, I'm cool with that. As above not expecting anything, just commenting on the fact CCP made a big deal of the Yule-lads for them to then hand out crappy things.

On a personal note:
Maybe forcing your kids to feel or act a certain way, under punishment of taking away holiday gifts or public humiliation (which, from the way you sound, would be the easy part), Isn't the best way to go. Just sayin...

Thank you for merely proving my point for me with this post full of feigned ignorance, self-contradiction, and unapologetic sarcasm. And, topping it off with one of the most profoundly stupid things I have ever heard anyone say on the subject of children.

I'll indulge you on that "personal note", however... for your edification. When you attempt to teach a child proper behavior and good manners, it's called "preparing them for adulthood", not "forcing them to behave a certain way". And from the huge gap in maturity levels between my daughters, and how you show yourself on the forums every time you post... I dare say, I've done a far better job as a parent than yours did.

Now, I have made my point with you... so shall I move on and stop bickering with your immaturity, before I get my own thread locked (miraculous it's gone on this long).

Don't make a big deal of Yule-lads then give out crap.

What I'm NOT saying:
I deserve better gifts!
Give me TITAN!
I'm entitled to gifts!
I paid for these gifts!
I don't appreciate these gifts!

That reminds me of the time I got a bottle of Whiskey as present. God I hated that, did the gifter think I am a fukking alcoholic? And yet I had to smile and be thankful. And oblieged to give a gift myself, of course. It´s nothing less than a trap!

Note: At least this is not the case here so who cares?
You don´t have to like the stuff you get but neither do you have any entitlement either. Ignore and move on!

Anyway, the best gifts are always those you make yourself.
No disappointments, no obligations and you get to profit from the gift yourself (that last one is reason I always gift books or movies if such is required by social convention).

The part where you don't seem to grasp the fact they don't HAVE to give you anything, at all, and you have absolutely no right to complain.

I have never played WoW, so my information may be off, here.... but I don't recall ever hearing about them giving players free in-game items, at all, for any holiday. Especially not one-time-only commemorative things like Jovian shuttles, or uber-hax codebreaker ships, or exploration vessels that can't be targeted by NPC's... certainly nothing as awesome as a gods-damned Gnosis.
