Sound problems...

So I've been having some of these problems for a long time, I'll try to be clear and specific with them. I regret it taking me this long to post this... such laziness.

So down to the oldest. Sometimes (rarely), I still get stuck in a system listening to the sound of a warp gate regardless of where I'm at in that system (with the exception of being docked). This doesn't happen like it used to long ago. For example, as soon as I warp to another system, it disappears. This makes it a minor thing now, but still a rare annoyance.

Since the latest and "greatest" (not really) afterburners and micro warp drive sounds have been added to the game, I hear the sound from them at times making no sense at all. About 20-30% (often enough) of the time when warping in a newly loaded system, my ship will accelerate to warp, but with the sound of a micro warp drive being on. EVEN if there is no micro warp drive equipped on the ship!

On the note of propulsion sounds, what seems about 70% of the time, the ship no longer makes the rumbling sound while moving (this is without AB or MWD enabled). The ship just moves in total silence and it's a real immersion breaker. This happens very often, usually breaking sometime after I have warped away from the station I just undocked at. The sound rarely returns when entering a new system (but sometimes does), and only comes back once I've docked and undocked from a station again.

Now most recently, I have the problem of having no environmental sounds from the captains quarters. This is consistent both in the hangar area, and in the room area. You can still hear the footsteps when the character is walking however, and the UI sounds still work as well. This is happening VERY frequently and the only way to fix it is to manually enter the ship hangar, then go back into the captains quarters (which is easy enough).

That's all I've got for now, everything else is working great. :)

1st - clear cache and repair client (launcher)
2nd - temporaly disable surround (5.1 7.1 etc) and environment effects (sound card control panel)
3d - update sound driver

if issue not solved:
try to record your bugged sound
create dxdiag report
submit bug report here: http://community.eveonline.com/support/submit-bug-report/

Thank you for your post. I've done everything except #2 (was already done). I'm not sure how to record bugged sound, nor do I understand how a sound recording would help what is no less accurately described in the OP already (you can imagine what I typed and that's pretty much exactly what it is).

I'll wait and see what comes of it. Perhaps other users have had similar problems (and fixes) or a dev/GM will know what else I can try. It might also just be EVE itself as it is.

So today, I was piloting my Tayra, moving cargo around for a story line mission. As I came in to dock at the delivery location (approaching the station before docking request is accepted), the afterburner sound kicked on (and I really do hate that whining noise that plays at 2 parts in the continuous loop). The ship is NOT equipped with an afterburner.

It's getting old flying through space in complete silence (ironic considering that it's realistic). More often than not, my ambient engine prop sounds are not functioning (the low bass-heavy rumble when your moving without prop mods). I've tried what I know to try, can I please get some help?

I have the same problem when someone activates a gate. The sound can loop for 20-30mn and doesn't stop when I'm docked, it's really annoying.

Clear cache and repair client did nothing.

It seems my ship sometimes 'inherits' AB or MWD sounds from other ships. I had them even on a freaking freighter.

On a side note: Dear CCP hf., your sound team really needs a kick in the ****. Sound quality has steadily degraded over the last year or so.
Salvagers, Miners, Strip Miners and whatnot don't make any sound at all unless I zoom in really close.
Strip Miners sound NOTHING like they used to over longer distances.
Surrounded by three ships running SeBo's? Enjoy the hideous SeBo sound drowning out everything else!
Incursion ambience persists for minutes after leaving incursion areas.
PI ambience isn't stopped when leaving the PI screen.
Station interiors are more often than not completely silent.
Et cetera.

This... And the horrible new propulsion sounds. The squealing noise from the afterburner that occurs a couple times throughout the loop is just horrible. But what really annoys me is how its quiet from the front of the ship, but loud from back. So when your orbiting something, suddenly this loud prop mod sound comes back and drowns out everything else. Meh... not impressed with the direction sound has gone. The explosions on the other hand, beautiful.
