CP - thank you as always for the wonderful gifts, they are always fun, but I have an idea.

Instead of seemingly random junk, how about gifts that actually have a purpose, something that set you up for the upcoming direction of the game. Something more strategic.

For example, your buddy is going to start a new job as an art director in a cold place. For xMas you give him a travel bag, a coat and a sketchbook, something with purpose and direction for the task at hand.

Just a thought, would be really cool and super exciting. Either way, Happy holidays and thanks for everything.

I remember the time we got to choose what we got from a list. Made damned sure to get those BPO's for the new Fuel blocks when they were converting POS fuel. Also you could choose if you wanted a second of the new Genolution Implants that had just been released. Was a good holiday......however I will concede that there is a chance I am misremembering this but I really hope not.

I remember a time when people waited to see every gift they were getting before they complained about the gifts.
If the last gift turns out to be pretty cool you're going to feel really stupid for complaining, aren't you?

When I'm entertaining clients, sometimes the heat is so intense that the pipes over my 'sleeping' area start to rain on us from the condensation.

Some waterproof sheets would be a wonderful gift. Or perhaps a lovely umbrella?

That's CCP for you.
Go through all the time and effort of making the videos, setting up the eve-o site, ect.
Then give you a bunch of useless crap.

Haters gonna hate, Trolls gonna troll.

Like the Cylons, CCP does have a plan:

Your gift:
1xExpanded Probe Launcher II

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

This.

I am interested if they will add up to a complete frigate fit. Maybe another Magnate?

I'm sure the 100mn MWD clearly indicates their desire to provide a frigate fitting.

I don't understand why everyone complains about "free" gifts, expansions, and festival events. You all deserve potatoes

if CCP starts saying their free gifts are a hint at the game's direction, everyone is going to assume F2P P2W, cash shop cash shop cash shop.

If it's useless crap then you won't mind contracting it all to someone who will appreciate it, one mans crap is another mans gold.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

It's really easy to understand, if you flip the issue around a little in your head. Why shouldn't people be complaining about bad or useless items? The fact it was free is not an important consideration when looking at its undesirable qualities. Others look at them simply as gifts and are taught to be polite and appreciative of such things no matter what the gift actually is. It's the thought that counts and all that.

When you get an undesired gift what do you do? I'm polite and thank them for the gift. I appreciate the gesture and am truly grateful, but crap is crap and my storage space is limited. When the gift giver is gone I'll dump that crap in storage or think of a way I can sell it to someone, so something good can come of it. I never re-gift gifts that I've received. For some reason I've been taught it's not appropriate.

I had to 'like' that post because, well, you know why.

"The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental."

There's a term for it, but it's pretty offensive.
