Who's the genius who came up with that?

Next we'll have pvp flags in null sec.

Are ccp that desperate to retain noobs.

Well, thy could make a starting tutorial that runs ina an instance. And after the tutorial is done you can never re enter it.

That would be acceptable

aren`t the starting systems a safe heaven already?

Not via the mechanics, which means the newbies don't know that the guy who ganked or baited them did so against the rules and don't know how to report them anyway.
But yes they are.

Personally I think a lot of the issue is the income divide between frig missions/anomalies & lvl 4 missions/null anomalies etc. Which also forces most people into Battleships. But to fix that would require a massive revamp to the entire mission/anomalies system.

CCP should just make the rookie systems only allow characters up to two months old to be in them. Make the rookie systems at deadend pipes so noone has to go thru them to get anywhere.

After a character becomes older than 2 months, that character is automatically transferred with all of his belongings to a 0.9 system close by the rookie system and can never reenter rookie system.

Also a rookie cannot join a player corp & be allowed in the rookie system. If they join a player corp then they are banned from rookie systems.

Problem solved.

I don't know about other people, but I'm very much opposed to artificial, un-EVE solutions like gates saying "you're not allowed to go here".

The current protection is fine. It just needs better enforcement and better awareness.

2 months? In 2 months you should have already went to low sec and 0.0. That time must be 1 week.

That is why i said, make a tutorial in a system that cannot even be seen from outside and afteryou leave.. is gone to never be found again

Agreed, the tutorial system(s) should get you a feel for eve during your trial and once you leave it, you can never return to it, search for it, or look at it.

Are you suggesting I would be required to spend hours doing missions for the tutorial, then learning to pirate in LS, then learning to gank and podkill in NS, before my new trading alt would be allowed to fly over to Jita and accomplish his bloody job?!

No way alt kissers from CCP will make it unskip-able exactly in case people decide to create one.

Safe haven? They're called stations. They're all over the place.

If it gets any safer than that people are going to start quitting.

How can you get a feel for EVE in an empty system. You can't experience EVE without being in the same universe as everyone else, since it's a single Shard experience.

Agreed, it's basically a non sandbox area within the sandbox and as such not very eve like at all.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...
