I've only been playing EVE about a month, but I can say missions are broken. I was flying around doing L1 missions 1hitting stuff in my destroyer. Come L2, my destroyer just got target jammed so I looked up EECM and those low power modules that increase sensor strength.

I bought a cruiser to fit 3 of them as well as an EECM. I'm flying a Rupture. All and all I got about 60 sensor strength, I might as well have had nothing. They target me from 70+KM away and that's the end of it until I warp out. How do you counter that? I've seen some people say "microwarp out of range", tried that, 100KM isn't far enough. People say "EECM and Ladar Backup Clusters, tried that to the extreme, nothing. I've heard people say fly a ship with decent base sensor strength; no good. It took my buddy half an hour to do it for me in a battleship as he only had a window of 5-6 seconds to 1 shot something every few minutes before being jammed again. FOR A "NEWB" LVL 2 MISSION IN HIGHSEC LMAO!

The only thing I can conclude is that they're trying to push people to buy into that "power of two" bullshit. Get those extra accounts sold. Warp in your omnitank to take agro, then come in with your DPS and just LOL DPS while nothing shoots at you. Personally I think it's a low-blow to fans of the game (forcing 2nd accounts) and an underhanded way to scrounge up for subs, but from what I've seen people give in and do it, I guess it beats mining rocks all day.

Proposed solution to problem.

Change Target Jamming so that
A) it knocks off all your targets
B) the minimum amount of targets is upped to 1 (from 0). OR, make it so that it knocks off X number of random targets from the victim's target list based on the current system of jammer str vs sensor str. If that isn't enough, make it also jumble everything around in your overview and keep you from re-organizing it for 15 seconds instead of making you 100% worthless.
C) Adjust EWAR cap costs appropriately

Can you remember the name of the Mission? It shouldn´t be that extreme in a Lv. 2 mission. Where you using the right ECCM? Every sensor-type needs a specific ECCM-module or it doesn´t do a thing.

The Blockade. And yes, I'm flying Minmatar and using LADAR.

Ohgod. The Blockade has been ridiculous ever since rats got an education in how to use EWAR.

Was it against Guristas or against Serpentis? ECCM won't counteract Serpentis since they use Sensor Damping which requires Signal Amplifiers and Sensor Boosters.

aside from you getting one of the maybe 3 missions that are still sucky and not balanced...

i think you should know, that as of last check, the average EVE player had something like 2.3 active accounts averaged.

so yeah, power of two really isnt a start of anything, or a new trend, people have ahd multi-accounts for forever.

Confirming that some of us are probably insane and play EVE without any alts.

Doing just fine, too.

well it would take ages to do blockade level 2 in a battleship anyway because of the signature resolution of BS guns and in level two blockade u are fighting mainly frigates i believe.

Basically frigates are hard for BS sized guns to hit

Im guessing ur blockade was versus guristas pirates since u were getting jammed. If so are you in caldari space?

You could always try missioning in minmatar space. then the blockade would likely pit u against angel cartel. Who tickle you with target painters...

admittedly jamming is very annoying and the blockade is prolly the hardest level 2 mission there is. combine the two and its not very nice.

I would suggest asking for help next time this mission comes up. There is a channel dedicated to helping missioners. Its called helpmymission

join the channel and ask about for help.

Firstly: Absolutely wrong forum. Try Missioning and Complexes the next time. Maybe you get more help there.

It is called an MMO, the middle letter standing for multiplayer. You may draw you own conclusions from that.

BTW there are skills to highten your Sensor Strength as well. Not that it should matter in level 2 missions. Or you can use a drone boat, warp in and set your drones to aggressive and let them roam. Or you can use a missile-boat and use FoF missiles.

You should be able to fly a Lv.2 mission alone. I don´t have such a big problem with ECM in a Lv.4 blockade, so it is possible that maybe the Lv.2 version has been overseen when they fixed the eWar-bug with the new AI.
Try to write a ticket about this subjekt and until then I would recommend you to just Ignore blockade-missions. They are the hardest missions when you shoot the triggers first and let the enemy overrun you

NPC e-war is ridiculously overpowered, and there isnt any point in trying to counter it except for with drones or friends. Yes, CCP definitely need to look into this.

ur friend taking a battleship in was probably not very clever and why it took so long. a vexor or arbritrator with drones or a caracal or bellicose with FoF missiles would clear it in 5 minutes.

just wait till ur running level 4's. u'll be begging for Blockade as they are one of the best paid missions and sometimes have a faction rat spawn for mad loots.

The Blockade has needed a pass since forever. You can avoid those missions by not accepting the mission or switching to another agent if you're on your timer. If you must do the mission...

Fly with friends.

Don't have friends? Make friends. Fly with new friends. Enjoy the added benefits of having friends, too.

the blockade is pretty much the worst mission when it comes to NPC ewar. If vs serpentis last night my battleship that has a lock range of 200km got damped down to 20km, so you may need to fit a brawler. If vs guristas you have my sympathy, cruiser with ECCM is a good start. Just fit more eccm.

This is not an appropriate subforum for this thread.

Take off the tinfoil hat. Its annoying whether its coming from a delusional veteran or a discouraged rookie. Certainly there are advantages to having multiple accounts but level 2 missions is not really one of em.
