Are Interdictors gettting the changes made to Destroyers?

I'd love an explanation of how this is a feature. What's the thinking on this? Because right now I hate flying dictors because in their current state I'm lucky if I come home in my pod after a large engagement.

CCP is being very careful to buff interdictors so they're going to beef up their T1 counterparts first to see how the changes affect the landscape.

You can't say that the 'T1 destroyer should be worse than the T2 interdictors' because the two ships are inherently different in their mission profiles. A T2 interdictor has a bubble. That makes them one of the most powerful ships in the game already. The power to drop bubbles is so absolute that in most fleets a dictor cant even use his own bubble unless an FC says so.

Besides... if you beef up Interdictors, you might just see A LOT more 1-man solo gank fit interdictors rolling around null. If they're not careful, 0.0 will become a much more dangerous place than it already is. And that's something I'm sure CCP is very hesitant to change.

PS. Heretic sucks.

tl;dr version: Good interdictors = BUBBLES ON EVARY GATE

Edit: It should be noted that despite my disposition, I would very much like CCP to beef up the interdictors so I can start soloing in one. I'm playing devil's advocate in this case.

Unless you have some inside source, this is pure speculation. My theory that they are unwilling to spend time looking at interdictors is just as valid.

All T2 hulls fill different niches and all T2 hulls are an improvement upon their base T1 design. This is why they take substantially more time to train for. Besides, you know.. this argument is directly in conflict with your previous line on how CCP were looking at their counterparts.. which you proclaim to have a different role?

I don't really see a relation between fleet doctrine and "absolute power", bubbles can very easily hamstring the deploying party so they are used with care.

We're merely advocating the signature reduction and other small tweaks made to destroyers to be applied to interdictors as well. This isn't going to make them the crowned kings of solo pvp.

Yep. I was interested in getting a Sabre, now I am not.

Because you never flown another dictor, once you will you'll find Sabre really awesome compared with every other counterpart.
