Cant' get the patch.

as a programmer too i know "nothing perfect and there's always a bug afk cloaked in the code".

but i still dont understand why we cant just download the patch file.
I bypassed the firewall today @work but it change nothing (just for check but still crashing).

and yeah i know it's bad to launch a game @ work but i just use like chating tool Roll

there's so many thing to fix in eve.... and they fix forum ! GJ! but ok i like it !

I am not sure either, some patch files should still be generated. However, in the long run these are going away.

I agree, if there is an easy way to help ppl in need, why not just help them? Instead we just help ourselfs..

Almethea, your the best! Another update and again another launcher fail.... Without your help it would be another 13 hour download from the offline Installer, so thank you again.

Well what do you know, the launcher downloaded and installed the patch correctly this time. First time in a looong time.

I am one of the lucky ones in that the launcher normally patches fine for me.

Guess my luck just ran out!

I can't get it to patch today gets stuck now on 3/4 says completed 100% but never shows client ready. What?

EDIT: Fixed by clearing the launcher cache. Smile

sigh, what is this

IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\SteamApps\\common\\Eve Online\\bin\\blue.dll'

it is throwing that error, tried repair tool, tried clearing cache...

same problem, will do the clear out of folders from command line to see if it works.
EDIT1: I do not use steam, cleared the cache folders, same error thrown.
EDIT2:
After removing all cache files and 3 retries the repair tool worked.
Tried to download and re-install the client. The client can not be installed into a non empty folder.
May be a good idea to make the installer overwrite files in a directory (would help with repairing)

The Launcher that worked last time is not working this time.... What a surprise! (Sarcasm) Over the last year I have had a 3% success rate at patching using the launcher from CCP. My only method was uninstall and download from the offline installer and re-install. I live in a rural area and at 1.5mbs it takes about 13 hours to do this.

Almethea Thanks again! With you its always 100% successful and only takes about 15 minutes. Your the best!

Well a new exception in patching is preventing me from playing yet again and I can't find Almathea's ccp saving links to the probably tiny file I need. So guess i'm not playing eve tonight, again. I'm certainly not downloading the whole client again.

Well if you're talking about the one previously posted in this thread then its probably out of date. Unless you know of a link she has posted elsewhere? In which case can you point me there?

As for any patch file manually downloaded I just shove it in 'eve' folder main game directory and it sorts it all out fine.
