The history of the aptly named and well loved tiericide initiative, essentially meaning a list of which ships have been rebalanced and in which expansion, was nowhere to be found. Or maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough. Or failed to see something right infornt of my eyes. Regardless, I decided to compile this list for the purposes of gathering ideas for the remaining ships that have jet to feel the loving touch of the rebalance. As well as for collecting arguments as to why one ship class should be rebalanced before (an)other ship class(es).

The tiericide itself started with either Crucible 1.1 or Inferno 1.0 depending on your point of view.

With the "alredy done" list done what remains to be done? The list of ship classes jet to be rebalanced.

Combat Subcaps:
-Pirate Faction Frigates (except SoE)
-Covert Ops & Stealth Bombers
-Assault Frigates? (depending on wheter the tweaks in Crucible1.1 count as rebalance. maybe unneeded)
-Pirate Faction Cruisers (except SoE)
-Recon Ships
-Logistics
-Heavy Interdictors
-Strategic Cruisers
-Pirate Faction Battleships

Industrial Ships:
-Blocade Runners & those horrible horrible Deep Space Transports
-Freighters (though they don't seem to need mutch of a re balance)
-Jump Freighters (same as freighters)
-The Ore Industrial Ships: Noctis, Orca, and Rorqual

Capitals:
-Dreadnoughts (Phoenix in particular, as well as it's weaponsystems)
-Carriers
-Supercarriers
-Titans

So what do I think should be rebalanced next? And why.

Firstly the rebalance of all capitals and super capitals as well as the Heavy Interdictors ,which are mainly anti super capital ships should be postponed till later. Granted there seems to be more then a little grievances concerning supercarrier blobs, useless capital missiles, perfect sentry alpha and such. But to rebalance them I believe some other things must happen first. New pirate implant set that is the shield equivalent of the slave set. Possibly some changes to drone mechanics and assist. Rebalance of XL missile lanchers (rapid cruise missile launcher anyone?). Maybe some sovrenity changes for the rebalance of supers. Maybe they find new roles. And rebalancing hics is a bit pointless before supercaps are in shape.

Secondly the industrial ships are a bit of low priority ships. And since the addition of new deployable structures may vastly change the roles they would need to fill, their rebalance should be left to a later time. With the possible exception of Deep Space Transport. A bit more gank resistant high sec hauler would be nice.

Strategic cruisers, while in need of rebalance are also allover the place, meaning that the other ships that they have overlaping roles with will propably need to be rebalanced first as to either limiting the rebalancing options of said classes. Or require a second go at the Strategic Cruisers in relatively near future.

As for the logis, they dont seem to be in too dire of a need for rebalance.

So this process of elimination leaves us with Recon Ships, Stealth Bombers, Covert Ops, Black Ops, and the Pirate Faction Ships.

Of these, the ones in the most dire need of rebalance are, in my less then humbe opinion (humility is overrated anyway), the Sansha Pirate Faction ships. Lets be honest. They are abominations. And not in the way they are supposed to be. They are the only shield laser boats in the game and the suck more then an industrial grade vacuum cleaner.

But how should they change? While they might not be the most canonically correct ships (isn't sansha supposed to be armor users?) I really hope they stay as shield ships, since there are no other shield laser combos around.

Firstly though the Phantasm and the Nightmare want their stolen med slots back. The fact that these two ships have one less slot then their counterparts in other Pirate Factions makes them clearly weaker.

The second thing is mainly a question of wheter the pirate ships should have a secondary, more utilitarian role bonus like the SoE line ships do. A rr bonus like the Nestor will have, could be intresting. And concidering the number of utility highs in the Sansha ship lines, it would also work well with the line. Some type of e-war bonus could also make them more interesting to fly. Or perhaps an improved warp speed, though that would woek better for the racial skill bonus.

As for their role, the ship line could move a bit more towards the attack role. Not all the way, but they could be somewhat more manuverable.

well fozzie has ruled out pirates as the next re-balance in the point release which leaves T2 cruisers so HIC's, Recons, logi's.
then either pirates or T3's. hopefully T3's before pirates..

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Don't confuse tiericide with rebalancing. They are not the same thing. Tiericide was about giving every ship a purpose. HIC's and Logi's already HAVE their purpose, and there isn't really a ship type that does their respective function better than them. Only the recon is left as possibly needing some tiericide - and they don't need THAT much. Either you have the Combat Recon doing massive E-War, or the Force Recon being the sneaky infiltrator (mid-sized black ops).

Pirates are in the highest need right now of some love, while at the same time, they really need a Cal-matar variant - which they've acknowledged, but it will be a bit of time to work that up (have to not only come up with the ships, but generate a whole new faction complete with lore to back it up). I'm not sure it'd really be considered tiericide when dealing with the pirates though. They are not supposed to have some special purpose to fulfil, they are variants on already established mainstream ship roles, as they should be. now, there are some that could use love, in that the pirate ships SHOULD fulfil that cloned role slightly better than the mainstream counterpart, and I'm not sure that is the case in every class - but again, that's not really tiericide.

Basically, what I'm saying is, the SHIP tiericide is pretty much complete. Time to turn to modules and look at them. Multi-trait modules should have more variety between better at A than B, or B than A instead of just linear up the meta progression. THAT is continuring the tiericide. It is a shame that most META 3- loot gets reprocessed...

Nevertheless, pirates have indeed been ruled out as next to be reviewed.

This means the next will be some manner of T2 ship. I would say Blops, recons and covops/bombers.

T3s should be done dead last. I'm hoping for Black Ops sooner, though.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
