In my entire time playing EVE I've made less than 100m ISK, I've run missions, done PI, mined rocks in space, I've ****** around shooting belt rats, shot up haulers in lowsec and diving into null to find decent sites.

I don't know what the **** I'm doing wrong, i know that the intense world of market PvP is always available for people who are willing to spend the time and effort running their 0.001's.

Aside from just going out and buying a PLEX.

I've been living on donations from other players after 10 ******* days of playing every time I've come back to the game and i'm rather sick of it.

the way i started:

1- run lvl1 mission with a good frig, then switch to some lvl2

stick to those until you can afford a good cruiser (for me it was vexor)

you are now ready for some lvl 3 / roflstomp lvl2 easy, at this time, it could be good to also invest in a salvage destro

keep doing this until you can afford a good BC, myrm was it for me

from now on, work yourself on getting standing for doing lvl4, you will do a lot of lvl3 but you should roflstomp them easy. once you can access lvl4, you should be able to afford and fly a BS

this is for highsec, in low, exploration will do very very well, or even some easier things provided you know what to look for.

hint: we have a couple of guys +- your ingame age(10 to 20 days), they do +-100M in around 1-2h easy, this is solo, when they come with more experienced player in sigs / plex, they might do more, for exemple we ran a 6/10 DED last week, 2 experienced players + 2 "noobs", took +- 20-25m, drop was 1.2B -> that is 300M / each, and we let the new guys "fight" around the salvage, and they made correct money, they even wanted to share :)

while a 1.2B drop in a 6/10 is not often, 500m is regular, this should give you an idea.

I'm sort of limited to what i can do that i enjoy, running decent missions or joining the faction for FW i want is stuck behind large money and rep walls that would take months of grinding for me to overcome

How about this roadmap:

Start a brand new character in one of your other character slots. play through all of the tutorials, the career agents included, to get a bunch of (actually useful) stuff while training up the skills this new character needs to fly a frigate in FW (Frigate skill, Prop jamming, guns...etc). Take your frigate of choice and sell everything you decide you don't need from the tutorials - don't worry about the prices you'll get, just liquidate the stuff for ISK. Go to Arnon and run the SoE Epic Arc "The Blood Stained Stars" most of which you can do in your frigate, get some help if you need to (this is where doing it on a new character is valuable) and pump the huge faction standing boost that gives you into your faction of choice for FW.
Buy a bunch more frigates and fittings, move them or get them moved for you and join FW.
You can probably reach this point within a couple of days if you really grind for it - a week or so at a more sedate pace where you can actually learn from the experience. Any time you have left on a reactivation, a trial or PLEX can then be spent pillaging the FW system for LPs and making bank.

It's one thing to ask a question on these forums and get a bunch of suggestions, but in all honesty, you need to just find somebody in game to take you under their wing, and show you the ropes. For a long time I was like you, and was bleeding ISK, actually making very little. Somebody actually showing you what to do, and where to do it, and how it's done is about the only way when you're this frustrated.

Do the newbie missions - and Faction repair plan. Linked here.

This will get you into level 3's.
If you're finding yourself spending more money than you are making on missions, consider a non-ammo based ship.
Drones or Pew Pew Lasers.

Level 4 mission will net you about 50-60mil a pop in bounties, and more if you go back and salvage it.
(Salvage book and T1 salvager cost about 2mil tops - So you've got the cash).

No one can really help you more than we have, giving you donations just feeds the whine machine.

I didn't read the whole thread...so, I don't know if this has been mentioned. but you make money in eve, as in real life, by saving more than you spend. if you are losing ships and clones, you are losing money. if you are buying shiny things you don't really need and not having the income to support that habit, you are losing money. if you have a steak appetite on a bologna pocketbook...your "career" will always be in shambles.

edit: way to go, kate lol

dunno what you're talking about "0.01 rep increase," a single mission gives like 10x that, and it only takes like 10-15 missions to go from level 3's to level 4's, and level 3's are fast. Just get connections and social to level 3-4 and you're good to go.

Also FW is low barrier money, although you have to grind for a bit then cash out, and unless you've royally screwed up all your empire standings you can join it instantly with no problem.

If you have issues with security status you can go rat in lowsec with a destroyer and handle that with minimal risk as well.

Ratting in nullsec is also good because you can just undock and go, no messing around with loyalty points, mission areas, or things like that.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

level 'connections' and 'social' skills so that you can get to level 4 agents faster.

if your sec needs fixing look for 'clone' rats in lowsec, they drop a tag you can turn in for quick sec fixing.

Until I'm on a negative sec status, permanently trapped out of highsec with no money and no way to actually do anything

No. Not at all. Bad sec status just means harder logistics. You can still gank in highsec for isk with a bad sec status, you will just need some help, like an orca alt to drop ships for you. But ofc all of eve becomes eaiser with alts and friends. BTW its relatively easy to repair sec status - go to low and grind for tags (which is decent isk in and of itself), or you can just by the tags with the isk you make from ganking.

Most isk I ever personally made was from ganking haulers. It worked real well, until the haulers stopped coming. Now, for the sake of variety, I'm trying out the pve aspects. For me, it hasn't been nearly as lucrative or fun. But then again, I'm probably doing it wrong.

I know a super secret way to make 70-100+ mil ISK an hour, guaranteed, with no risk and very low skill requirements involved. Yes, even with a 10 day old character. ISK grinders hate me.

I'm not telling you about it though, because being a raging ass doesn't get you anything in Eve. Try again, and maybe ask nicely.

A typical level 4 mission earns at least 10 million ISK with the bounties included.

There are four ways to make money in Eve:

(1) Run a corp and get other people to make money for you via tax
(2) Be a highly skilled character and have a plan, i.e. trading, industry and so on
(3) Be a low skilled character and mine, rat or run missions
(4) Buy plex

Personally I've never done 4. I've done a lot of 3 and once you get to level 4 combat missions your wallet does tick over OK, though not spectacularly. I've done some ratting in null too, but like everything I do too often it gets kind of dull. Now with a highly skilled character I do science/industry and make a tidy profit.

Depending on your SP you might want to join a null corp, or even better if you're kind-of new, an academy for a null corp that starts you off in empire and then moves you to null when you're grown up.
