Loki fits for PVE?

So i've just returned to high-sec and i need a new source of income. Normally i would rat anoms in a t3 battlecruiser or explore my homespace in nullsec. I have minmitar cruiser V and i was wondering if the Loki could be used for level 4 missions or running DED sites. I've also thought about finding wormholes and getting some tasty sleeper loot. I'm fairly inexperienced with both missioning and wormholes but i know the basics. Could any loki pilots give me some advice on how to fit a Loki for pve and what can be done with it?

The Loki is a tricky beast: it's got great projection (but then again, all ships do for their size when fitted properly), and has solid tank for both shield and armor. However, that tanks fails when compared to the other three T3s. In general it has a lower amount of EHP, though that's not to say it can't be done. It really revolves around movement as well. It really comes down to how you want to fit it: armor or shield? After that, you look at the weapons. In all honesty, I kind of hope they look at the Loki's shield defensive subsystem and make it active. That fits the Minmatar philosophy better. But I digress.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

I'd prefer to shield tank as my armor tanking skills are pretty low. Would T2 medium autocannons do enough dps to do level 4s at decent speed? how does the dps compare to the tengu?

I would definitely go with 425 autocannons to get as much dps possible. The loki is fast enough that getting into range isn't as much of an issue, the extra dps will be worth it. Its dps and projection with artillery just isn't that great, at least when compared to the tengu or sentry ships. With max skills and 3 faction damage mods (and 2 tracking enhancers), it does less dps at 1.8km than a 6x hml tengu can do with furies at 70km. Well, the loki does more dps actually with hail, but in general fury missiles are a lot more usable. Loki has some of the benefits of turrets and may have an advantage vs frigates, but the tengu is still on top. The gap is much smaller vs EM weak enemies, as it doesn't lose effective dps vs them and has better resists, but these enemies also use tracking disruption, and the projection issue is still there.

On the whole though, I would say the Loki is quite a serviceable ship for level 4 missions. Like all t3's its good for probing and being cloaky, and it can do a lot of exploration content, although for similar reasons can't do everything a tengu can do.

i used to use the loki a lot for pve, but the hillariously low range is a pain. Yes it can shoot far, but it is all falloff so you really dont do that much dps. So it is a LOT of MWDing around to get into range, tank wasn't a prob. it can have an insane shield tank but.. doing any damage really let it down.

For lvl 4s its a no go in high sec IMO. Its not that it doesn't work, there are just cheaper alternatives that work much better.

From my experience, you want to use a MWD, and make sure you've got a 6 turret setup. Unfortunately, its dps and range is the limiting factor for 4s. You'll get better results in a BS w/ a less expensive fit.

Its been awhile since I've used a Loki for pve, but I remember using projectile scoping, cap pool, shield aug, chassis optimization, and the scanning / tractor subsystem.

Omni tank w/ 2 invulns, at least 1 of them being decent, and a pithi a-type small sb. You may want to consider a dead space MWD bc of cap.

If you're gearing for a nice mission runner in the projectile line, mach/vargur are good choices. An arty maelstrom at low skills may give you better results than a pimped Loki.

I made a loki fit for running 4's within a fleet.

Dont have access to it atm, was like a mix between the cyn and rapier.

Got around 650 dps and went 1800 m/s. Web range was around 35km IIRC. Gun range wasn't amazing, around 20km.

Wasn't great at running 4's but did provide alot of fun, gets used for Recon if I want to speed run.

Convo me in game I will send you my fit.
