So I have a Typhoon cruise and sentry fitted that was getting 1274 dps. Only skill that would add damage (via 2% increase in RoF) was cruise specialization 5 (I had it to 4). So silly me thought I would get a increase in dps damage. Instead I got a reduction in dps....from 1274 to 1266. Am I missing something?

When you checked for the 1274 DPS was there perhaps some non-permanent boost in place? Fleet bonus, boosters, something else? Did you have the same jump clone in use? Also, did you use the same tool to check the DPS in both cases?

No boosts, checked in station via fitting screen and same clone I always use for ship.

Well, for sure, ROF didn't decrease your DPS.
I would check for
Different drones
Different missiles loaded (Faction, T2, etc)
Implant, but you already checked.

Nothing has changed. Only have t2 wardens and Scourge fury loaded. So I am still at a loss to understand this.

There's something you're doing incorrectly. Increasing from 4 to 5 WILL increase your dps. If it reduced there is something you changed that you haven't listed here.

Things I can think of:
- Jump clone (skill impants)
- Different ammo types
- Different drones (Did you change from Gardes to Wardens)
- Overheated
- Boosts

Possibly
- If this is EFT or Pyfa DPS, did you check in "ALL 5" before and now loaded your actual character sheet?

Things I can think of:
- Jump clone (skill impants)

- Different ammo types
As I posted earlier, only use one type...Scourge Fury
- Different drones (Did you change from Gardes to Wardens)
Only Use Wardens
- Overheated
Never overheat as I never trained the skill
- Boosts
Comparison was checked in station so no boosts

Don't use EFT. Only was using the fitting screen and reading DPS from that.

Believe me, nothing changed and I am as befuddled as anyone.

Factoring reloading times into the DPS figures would reduce the impact of an ROF boost - the faster ROF empties the weapon more rapidly, increasing the proportion of a cycle which is spent with guns (and/or launchers) inactive...
Whether the fitting screen factors reloads into the values it offers I don't know - although it wouldn't explain the issue as the ROF boost should still result in a net gain in DPS (though the expected magnitude of the change might be reduced).

The scale of the change is less than 0.7% which is not easily explained by any variance of skills, implants...etc.
