ASB EVERYTHING! But seriously now that thats out of the way for the forum thread.... 250mISK to whoever comes up with the best solo ship that fits a covert ops cloak. Deadline for submissions is 72 hours. Please post fits, stats and why you think its the best. I understand the higher the DPS does not always matter; nor can every ship win every fight. The intent is to kill the most common ratting ships. No officer or dead-space fittings and only ships available for purchase on the markets.

you can change the scram for a T2 if you want but DG is cheap, you could fit a disruptor but if you hunt solo ratters you really need a scram to stop them MJDing away

Who needs neuts to kill em slowly, when you can have blasters and kill em quickly? 550dps with overloaded guns. After all 9 charges in the XLASB you will end up with about 72k EHP. The proteus suggested above will do the cloaky blasters thing better (better tank, prob more dps) but this one is cheaper XD

2-3 Pilgrims available for the cost of one Stratios. An equal ISK worth of Pilgrims will own an equal ISK worth of Stratios. Per ISK spent, you get way more effectiveness with Pilgrim(s).

For a close range brawler, this should meet most folks' needs. Double webs and scram means no ones getting out alive. I originally was going to submit a kiting sentry ship with a 30km faction point. But frankly, the Ishtar does that a lot better. It was fast ~3100m/s and did about 684 dps out to 30km. But there were some concerns and situational issues. I think this fit would be a bit easier to handle and more reliable.

Overheated stats with all level 5s:

  • 594 dps with Ogre IIs and Conflag (double-webs means lots of damage application)
  • Burst tank of 525 dps omni.
  • 24309 EHP omni
  • Max overheated velocity of 829m/s (generally about the same speed as any other AB HAC)
  • With everything running you get 3'55" of cap life.

Add implants and boosters to taste.

Tactics: approach target while cloaked and ram them to disrupt their alignment. While you're waiting for sensor recal, pop drones and heat up all the things. That should give you enough time to lock and scram your target.

SS scram has a scramble strength of 3, for those ratting with stabs. Added the 1600mm back in, seeing as it only cost 40m/s or so in speed, still AB over the MWD because you're bumping them to begin with and they're likely to scram you back. Cov-Ops reconfig gives no tracking bonus, which can be a problem for a tight orbit with Void, thus the tracking rig. Also has the option to orbit at 13km, outside of normal Neut/Web/Scram range and still dish almost 400 DPS with Null.

DPS:
540 with Void, 650 heated
480 with FNAM, 580 heated
390 with Null, 468 heated, falloff range 13km+
Web/Scram out to 14km, 18+ overheated
Armor resists in the range of 70/80/90/73
Effective HP and speed/orbit should mitigate incoming damage nicely with 800+m/s overheated AB.
Upgrade to faction Mag Stabs and EANMs as budget allows. Built this for around 600mil.
Wanna get really crazy? Swap guns to Fed-Navy Heavy Neutrons. Small reduction in damage for twice the tracking. Too rich for my blood…. for now.

If you're planning on ganking ratters, you'll know what they're tanked against, which means you'll know what they're not tanked against, which means if you use missiles you can shoot right into their resist hole(s) for maximum damage. In the worst case scenario (Guristas), they're going to be tanked for kinetic/therm, which means your Proteus will be doing miserable dps while missiles could be firing right into EM (for shield) or explosive (for hull) for nearly full damage. Plus, with missiles you don't have to worry about causing problems with your own transversal.

So, if you don't need probes:

Tengu Defensive - Supplemental Screening
Tengu Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

111k EHP, 464dps.

If you want the jamming protection from the Dissolution Sequencer subsystem, drop an invuln for a DCII. Drops down to 103k EHP.

If you want probes, you need to sacrifice a big chunk of dps or EHP. Sacrificing DPS is easy, drop a launcher for a probe launcher. Sacrificing EHP is a bit harder:

Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II

Tengu Defensive - Adaptive Shielding
Tengu Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

70k EHP, 464 dps.

XLASB fits are doable but you pretty much have to drop a bunch of DPS to pull it off and you can only get up to ~130k EHP. Probably not worth it.

Only problem is that total velocity, rather than transversal, will effect your missiles, so you might be more limited on the -size- of targets you can engage rather than the -type- of target. And being a cloaky, you get to choose your targets carefully, so engaging someone specifically fit to tank your damage would be silly. Otherwise, you've got the flexibility to choose ammo type, I'll give ya that.

Ishtar are all the rage right now. The dumb bears are fitting them with a small shield booster. Thats it, the whole tank is an ssb! Also no probe launcher so they are in anoms. They warp to 100km deploy drones and just sit there doing god knows what behind the keyboard.

This will sound crazy but just hear me out... a prowler. Thats right, the minmitar blockade runner.

Let them see you on d-scan. Warp from PoCo to PoCo while you sniff them out. They will assume you're doing PI. Then land right on top of them with your superior tank, agility, speed and just one auto cannon cause it shouldn't take more than that.

Your welcome. When do I get my money? Cool

What a tough competition, except maybe the blaster pilgrim that made me go wtf and sit coffee out my nose.

Im going to have to give it up to crazy0146 his proteus beats out the dps and ehp of the other ships while maintaining probes and the equipment needed to hold a target. I would have liked to have seen a proper pilgrim submitted but alas it was not meant to be. 250m isk was sent. Thanks for playing guys, hope the thread keeps going as more people see it.

My original fit is close to Jack Mitons'. The T2 fits are fairly cheap (easily less than a stratios) and greatly benefit from fitting faction mods if you have the isk to spare.

Hehe some people just can't handle it here outside the box =P Same dps as the winner, half the EHP but 1/3 the cost.

Grats to the winner though - I like the addition of the probe launcher.

i liked the pilgrim much more than the plate proteus, at least you dont have to dock to repair all the time after a engagement, which is pain in the ass and limit you very much.
only problem with pilgrim is that rats now are ******* stupid and kill your drones.
