If salvage pirates show up I'll suggest that you nuke all your wrecks to deter them.

Then I reiterate my previous suggestion

We should be allowed to deploy some kind of scan diffusing structure, so people who want the salvage they worked for can keep it, and those who want to leave it for salvagers can do so.

And I reiterate my point

This is how it has worked for 30,000 years

What makes you so special?

Eve online has been around for 30,000 years? Wow.

It's funny, in one thread you argue that eve is a game and people can't expect it to reflect reality if you want game balance. Yet in another thread you debate that an in-game feature shouldn't be changed because it's been like that for 30,000 years in some real-life maritime law.

Oh well, can't say I'm surprised. I think you just like to troll...

I fully support anyone who cleans up your space-garbage after you've done your disgusting mission running.
You should be taxed and the player salvaging and cleaning up you scraps should be rewarded bounties directly from you wallet. Space clutter is no joke and I fail to see how OP is anything but a troll fishing for angry responses.

LOL wtf are you even talking about... OP wants to "clean it up" himself. (+ you do realize wrecks disappear in 2hours right?)

If you spent more time thinking about what's written, instead of plainly reacting to it, then you wouldn't be the only person around not getting it.

Salvage doesn't exist until your salvager creates it in your cargo hold, or the drones create it and drop it off. So if pirates some how manage to steal it from you after this has happened, you can in fact shoot them. So what is your problem exactly?

Ah! I have miscommunicated, my apologies; I'm talking about people who sit around high-sec in salv fit destroyers scanning down mission runners' sites and salvaging their wrecks, while the mission runner is forced to just watch, because concord wont let us fire on robbers in high sec

no need to hate to those poor people....

look at it from another angle: you get tasty part (loot) and some poor bum spends his time to scrap some pennies from wrecks..... (because to be honest T1 salvage doesn't worth time lately anyway)

T2 salvage on the other hand...
Of course that doesn't come from missions, thankfully. Otherwise it too would be pretty worthless.

you don't get T2 salvage in high-sec (and this thread started about high-sec)

Imagine this;

You shoot destory a Gurista pirate ship and there is now a wreck instead of a ship
The wreck still belongs to the Guristas and not you.
The reason the Guristas doesn't get it is because that feature is not in the game.
If you are salvaging the wreck then you are stealing parts of the ship from the Guristas.

Therefore it's not your salvage.

Why aren't we allowed to fire on pirates stealing our salvage?
I just spent an hour clearing GE only to lose all my salv to someone in a cormorant

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to steal from me, just that I should be allowed to fight back if they do

You have been misinformed. You just need to click that little green button next to your HUD and set it to red. Once that is done, you are flagged for PvP and may engage those filthy salvage thieves freely.

You can easily get T2 salvage in highsec, just not from missions…

Uh, you can get T2 salvage anywhere. You just have to kill a T2 ship.

Uhm by saying "wtf are you even talking about" I didn't mean I didn't get it. I ment more like "wtf... I don't agree" + the rest what I said of course. I don't get how you could've misunderstood that though.

Because you siezed on the flavourtext fluff in the post and not the actual point that was being made.

Full disclosure: Been a mission runner in high sec for more than 5 years.

People whining about what they think they're entitled to in Empire **** me off. They come to these forums and demand that they be made 100% safe. They demand that mechanics be changed to suit their play style. They demand that they be given what they mistakenly believe they are owed for their subscription. They make us all look like an entitlement culture of whiny children. I would ask that the greater EvE community not generalize based on the comments of a random fool who fails to grasp the concepts of game mechanics.

OP, live within the current confines of the game mechanics and stop trying to change them. You are the reason that the community despises mission runners.

Love,
Kimmi Chan
