We invade for the silliest of reasons.

Note this is not a brag/bitching post about the current or recent invasions or how they went down. This is just my drunk ramblings.

SO im pretty tired, very drunk, and probably will only post this post because of opsec reasons. But I have noticed recently that W-space (as in wormhole nation, not the alliance) starts invasions for some of the silliest of reasons.

When you look at null sex you see invasions for serious reasons. Usually money, sometimes because its time to face your ancient and mortal enemy.

But WH Space... We invade because someone lied. Or we invade because someone made fun of our mothers. (This one still makes me lol to this day and will make me lol till the day I die) Sometimes we invade because, we opened up into someone and saw an undefended pos.

Granted I have been a part of, and seen/heard of invasions for mostly legit reasons in the past. Want the system for yourself, Someone stole from you, or you a score to settle. IE someone invaded you and you are returning the favor. All of these are mostly legit reason...

But we have done some of the dumbest things in the past all for the sake of fun, pew, and boob pics spammed into local. (Or a private alliance only channel dedicated to the appreciation of mammary glands) And lets not forget for the sake of bob.

So while I sit here too drunk to fall asleep and not drunk enough to pass out I have to wonder... What kind of wild ride WH space has been on ever since Aharm invaded CCRES. Or when some random HS carebear group decided to go take a c2 from someone and make it their own. It has been, and still is, and honor to be a part of this crazy dysfunctional family. All under the watchful eye of bob. WH space... you guys are great.

CCP isn't making the content for us to fight over, so we have to come up with any reason we can to make larger PvP content for ourselves in wormholes. It really comes down to any cause an FC can rally enough pilots behind, be it real or propaganda. If you just avoid the drama it's pretty fun.

Also, I was evicted over a "your mom" joke - twice. Shout out to Zaraki Kenpachi and Hyperfly Big smile

Some people just like to see a fire burn and chill around it with their friends... makes it warm and cuddly ... also the worse (awesome) the reason .. the more people are bored...

it goes like this I (invasion) = b(bored) * n(numbers) * e(ego)

well, WHs have little to no value on their own, especially crap like c6>c5 or c5>c5, so most invasions will have personal reasons.
still, last invasion I was on was to move into a type of system that there is only 36 of and all are occupied *shrug*

There is no Bob.

Invasions is about 99% boring slow times and 1% is a quick fight that you probably miss anyhow because of timezones.
Can't really see why anyone would do it if they have tried it before.

I have been philosophizing with someones all day what this means....

His stance it will kill the current way of wormholes and there wont be any "good" fights left because everybody got sieged.

My stance: "This is the start of a new form of wormholes, a new form of War, a more teambased way of playing the game, that is different from the usual SCAN, ROLL, FARM, GANK - Cycle."

i would love to hijack this thread and see what people actually think about this slugfest that is currently happening. Are we as a community killing ourself and becoming like nullsec or are we just going to see how far we can take this ? I m very eager to hear everyones opinion and conclusions about the near and far future of wormholes...

Are you more afraid of being sieged,
will there be more "slugfests"
will there be noone left
EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS JUST BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!!

Please keep an open mind and discuss... QT is sleeping lets give him a shitton to work through when he rises with a monster headache.

I don't think invasions are THAT big of a deal. I've been evicted twice and almost a third and fourth time.

Once you have experience dealing with it, it's not that hard to pack up and move to another wormhole. You keep a good idea of how well your group can defend the home in an invasion and you only keep things you need for combat fleets and PvE in the system and leave all the expensive stuff you rarely use in a station. I personally think of home wormholes as mobile jump-off points for pvp/pve rather than massive storage of unnecessary assets or my actual home base.

Invasions don't generally happen ninja style either; the hostiles usually know your coming. People rarely get ninja invaded with zero prior warning at the C5/C6 level at least. It just gives you a way to square off and really slug it out with a larger than usual fleet for wormholes.

That all assumes you're invading targets that have things they'll fight to defend. Otherwise you end up with a POS bash watching people s/d ships. Plus, an invasion isn't necessarily an eviction. Putting some towers into reinforced could be a good way to force people to fight but doesn't necessarily have to end with burning the system (though sometimes it does).

Invasions are rare and only really happen between the big C5/C6 groups, so these views aren't really the reality.

It's a shame that there aren't any conflict drivers other than "this is for calling my mother a whore" but if that is the way CCP wants us to play, there isn't much we can do about it.

Then you are both wrong. It doesnt change anything fundamental. People were saying the same thing during TL siege, around W-Space siege, HK siege and any other big siege that happened in the past. People keep saying how "this" (whatever it is) is gonna change wormholes and how they are dying and whatnot every couple months.

And in fact not a single of those predictions was ever true. Its remarkable that among so many alleged terrible changes and deaths, wormholes are pretty much still the same.

I agree.

This happened http://killboard.low-class.com/index.php/kill_related/18861/ because after we ganked their CEO's Golem, he said something Russian in local and the only words that Google Translate could decipher were "goat" and "bitches"

You guys seem to have ritualized invasions in the higher classes, using trigger words like "gud fights" or "farmers". Nothing to gain except legacy.

Except with less people, and the rest of us more centralized. Eve is about power, but with power comes great inability to get fights from people who don't want to whelp fleets (whelping fleets is only fun if you're pulling off something cool). Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Invading forces the defenders to whelp fleets or flee, and then the invaders get to circlejerk over blobmails and tears. Do it without capitals and you're too exhausted and unsatsified to even grab your buddy's Knock. We need something worth fighting for in w-space.

BAHAHAHAHA

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

If you come into someone's system, holding hands with other alliances, and then proceed to anchor towers, how do you expect people to take that?

No trolling please

We dropped a tower in ASH Alliance's old pulsar wormhole, brought in shield dreads, and a heavy shield hamgu fleet. We then proceeded to reinforce the pocos. Once they brought a fight, bringing in exiled ones as backup, and brought a second fight within 30 minutes. We decided that we were happy and left.

By this time we had total control and could have wiped them out with little to no resistance. We were invading, not evicting.

So basically people have to take your word that it's not an invasion? lol! No thanks.

We have a solid history of abandoning invasions the instant we get a fight. Win or lose. You dont have to take my word. Just look at my track record. (Well maybe not mine... my track record is colorful.)
