When CCP Tuxford isn't accidentally the whole server, he sometimes sits down to write dev blogs. His latest one is all about the new corporation bookmark system coming next Tuesday (7 days!) as part of Crucible, the Winter Expansion.

Read all about Corp Locations here, and remember to give us your feedback and questions!

Ooo fun! And first!

I assume we can still copy out into cans and transfer to non corp peeps?

This sounds like one of the best features of the expansion. It will also make WH like significantly easier, much to everyone's great joy.

Oh wait we also moved the location folder structure to the server which means that no longer will your bookmarks be lost to cache issues on your end.

Shocked Really? I mean, really??! Thank you so much CCP! It was so annoying to sort a million bookmarks into new folders after having the client newly set up.

I have only one thing to say to this:

F*CK

YES

That is all. Single best feature of the winter expansion imho.

What happened to the concerns about ensuring no copulatinglikewilddogs with the updatetimer misuse to prevent "instant" sharing?

edit. referring to the problem of spamming bookmarks to figure out the exact update offset, postponing making the "real" uptodate bookmark on a target to just a few seconds before the timer, to get practically instant sharing.

As I read the blog, there is no ensuring that the bookmarks delayed at least x minutes.

It does make scouting a bit easier and more convenient, but I'm not sure it's a significant problem either considering the up to 5 minute lag it has. On the whole this seems like a great improvement to the game.

Reading this I already knew it was amazing, but when I paid more attention, and spotted...

Finaly we got this but i have some toughts about it.. like can you make it so that everytime you insert/edit a bookmark you will be prompted with a corp passwords or a backlog showing who withdraw/created/modify's the bookmark? Since this game is full of jerks you might end up in the wrong place if somebody switches your bookmarks. :) Just saying Roll

On of my biggest goals for getting on the CSM this time around was getting these done. Thanks to all the CCP folks involved, and as promised, you will have gifts come fanfest time...

Current system, you have to either warp back to your buddies to share it with them or they have to warp to you to get a copy.
Either way that is a delay.

The only real problem here is that is no ensured delay.

Or a password protected folder as we might not wish to share all bm's with all members of a corp? New members should not necessarily have the coordinates to the entrance to your wh. Some safety from spies.

Otherwise, I like this very much.

I may not like you or your point of view but you have a right to voice it.

The whole thing is awesome, especially:
"Oh wait we also moved the location folder structure to the server which means that no longer will your bookmarks be lost to cache issues on your end."

Thanks!!
