Skill Training suggestions

I am still in a per/will map. I know right, odd. Well I joined the game in May, advised to take advantage of the Destroyer and Battlecruiser skills being split up. So I remapped to per/will. I was able to get Dest & BC to 4 before Odyssey. I also achieved Gallente Cruiser 5; Gallente, Amarr, & Minmatar Frigate 5. In any case here is what I have:

•Armor-HullUpgrades4, Mechanics4, Repair Systems3 (other armor skills at 1-2)
•Drones-CombatDrone3, Drones5, ScoutDrones5 (other drone skills 1-2)
•ElectronicSystems-Cloaking4 (other skills 1-2)
•Engineering-CapManage4, CapSysOps4, CPUManage5, EletronicsUp5, EnergGrid3, PowerGrid4, WeaponsUp4
•Gunnery-Gunnery5 (other skills 3-4)
•Missiles-MissileLauncherOps5 (other skills 3-4)
•Navigation- all skills 3
•Neural-Cyber3, Informorph4
•Rigging-JuryRigging3 (all other rig to 1)
•Scanning - all 3-4
•Shields-Ops, Up, and Tact4 (all others 2-3)
•Targeting-Management4, LongRange3 and SA3
•Spaceship-Amarr, Gall, & Mini Frigate5, CovOps4, Gallente Cruiser5, all DEST & BC 4, and BS & Indy sprinkles of 1-2

I think my goal is to small laser, small hybrid, small project, medium hybrid, and torpedoes to 5; then work towards recon cruiser, then BlackOps BS with others sprinkled in along the way. Training towards BlackOps will open other advanced frigate and cruisers along the way.

So would this be a good idea to plan towards? I will probably stay in per/will remap at least until I have the weapon systems T2 unlocked then move into int/mem to 5 out some support systems.

Any suggestions?

While on PER/WIL, consider Weapon Upgrades V and Advanced Weapon Upgrades III or IV.

Small and Medium Guns to T2 sounds good (with specs to IV), all Gunnery Support skills to IV as well (this goes for light and heavy missiles as well, but it really depends on what ships you fly regularly). I'd keep Torpedoes at IV at this point, but that's just me.

Then you really need all those INT/MEM skills to improve cap, cpu, and grid to fit all those juicy modules and hull, armor and shield to keep it alive.

Oh, and Navigation! All rank 1 skills to V, the rest to IV initially.

Rigging skills to III or IV for whatever rigs you use.

That's what I would do, but I'm sure someone will disagree. Bear

As already mentioned, I'd definitely go WU 5 --> AWU 4 before the remap. I'd consider moving towards medium T2 guns rather than small (or in addition to small) but honestly you're at a point where int/mem or int/per would do you a whole lot of good.

I have a character (here) in somewhat similar circumstances. I started her almost exactly a year ago and went full-on per/will. She has good to gunnery and missiles skills and spaceship command that I'm quite happy with -- the problem is, she can't really do anything. It's not a big deal since she's an alt and nothing more, but it demonstrates just how much the all per/will thing limits a character. She's due for another whole year of int/mem just to balance things out.

So yeah. That's my take. As a side note I'd also put that plan for a Blops way on the back burner. They're specialized ships and you'll likely know if/when you actually want one. And that likely isn't any time soon.

I like Per/Will for all the skills it covers. I had 1 character that stayed mapped for almost 3 years there.
That's where perfect maps really shine, long periods of time, and lots of level V's.

I assume you still have 1 or 2 remaps available? I generally train all I can with what I have, for as long as I can stand it*
As mentioned, you need a ton of other tank, rig, and support skills. BUT, you can train many of those to IV with a less than perfect remap and still be okay. You could sprinkle in some IV's here and there and not be hurt too bad.
If you still have your other remaps, you can switch out when you KNOW you have a few months to use them.

Young players do need lots of skills. They typically train skills they don't really need as well. It's all part of figuring out what you like in EVE.
Use EveMon. Make some plans (several) and see how they over lap and look at timelines.
Most of my plans get changed regularly...but I still use them for reference. It's common.

Int/Mem is not a bad map btw. Not as glamorous, but still it's just as important for all the categories it covers. You'll only be disappointed, if you switch and FORGOT a level V in the other map. V's are the time syncs.

Just some random thoughts, not really a hard line suggestion. Hope it helps.

Evemon (found at Battle Clinic website) helps a lot for planning, too.

Already well known by most players, but worth mentioning.

What do you do? If you fly missions or PVP the above advice is good. But there are other ships that I would recommend if you spend time in lowsec, nullsec, or wormhole space.

Just as an example: Even though you are mapped the wrong way - if you were a member of a wormhole corp skilling into Logistics would be of huge benefit; same with HIC (Heavy Interdiction Cruisers).
