I would like to see a built in micro jump drive on freighters. Perhaps a 5-10 minute recharge.

What purpose would that serve?

Freighters are just fine as they are.

This would make freighters way more interesting and it could be used for multiple things. Just use your imagination.

Long spool up, long cooldown.

An afk freighter would still be bumped to oblivion until the gank, while somebody that is vigilant would have the opportunity to jump and make an escape attempt. With freighter align times and quick reflexes from the bumper they could still be caught after the jump and on with the bumping until the gank is set up.

Other stuff.

The game has changed a lot since freighters were introduced. Virtually every other ship in the game has changed a lot, too. Have freighters changed at all since that time?

I don't think they specifically need a built-in anything but if they haven't been updated (JFs don't count as an update) within the last five years then they're at least due to be looked at in detail.

Freighters are massive containers with propulsion, there isn't much scope for change.

Well, we could always cut a whole in the box and let the kids call it a space-fort.

how about we just give them some fittings slots.

Can't. At least not without reducing their cargo capacity. Ever wonder why they can't haul more than 999,999,999 m3? (I'll give you a hint: packaged capitals are 1,000,000,000 m3, which means you could bring them into high-sec)

Easy work around

Add fitting slots

Add Freighter special ability - Cant use cargo extenders or Cargo rigs of any kind.

Bam, problem solved!!

Honestly, I don't see what the issue is with that.
All they have to do is disallow assembling capitals in HS and that problem is solved.

I'm not sure if some taboo but why not increase the packaged/unpackaged volume of Caps.. That way Max Freighter will never hold a capital. ?

Or you know ban the modules...
Or decrease the cargohold...?

Or have a hard max that you can't cross no matter how much cargo mods you add. ?

Oh right gankers... never mind....

What's wrong with where they are now compared to where they were on release?

They're more expensive to gank than they ever were. They're easier to protect than they ever were.

The only changes that have negatively affected them are the logoff mechanics changes.
