I could say something about those of you who squat in wormholes except that I'm FAR too wise to toss around general insults for fear that they might land on someone I didn't anticipate and wouldn't be willing to insult.

And this is why the lot of us get called traitors and terrorists.

First Kim, now you; I guess part of me really wanted to believe there were some that actually gave a damn about their beloved State within this militia. Now, I feel just the opposite.

Greed follows you, each and every one of you.

It defines you as a person, it makes you who you are.

And there's legitimacy in this profession for following that, I'll give each of you that.

It just hurts to visit Innia, visit the barracks deck and various mess halls, witnessing the sacrifice of men, women, each who've volunteered and will likely face death tomorrow and to ignore the desire to tell them how misplaced their faith is in their immortals.

In the end, I dine with them. A ******* jaijii.

There's no one else.

And the holovids don't show capsuleers from their militia, the State's media knows better after people like Diana Kim. It instead focuses on those braving Level 4 tasks set forth from the Corporate Police Force and Caldari Navy, because that's where the real patriots these days lay.

No local heroes.

No one to give them any assurance their lives aren't meaningless or unworthy.

All in the name of greed and the desire to be a laughingstock.

That's fine. I'll carry your burden. Like a good little jaijii… Anything to suggest there's an ounce of patriotism or honor left in this god-forsaken organization.

I don't think someone whose contributions to the State consist solely of self-effacing, mewling commentary like a spineless dog has any place to question either patriotism or honour. The Protectorate is a laughingstock because aside from a few exceptions it consists mostly of worthless profiteers or those who cannot live up to the standards of combat proficiency with aggression, boldness and audacity because they're risk averse mediocrities lacking in both talent and ability.

Perhaps your life is meaningless and unworthy, fit only to be a laughingstock, but at least don't judge those who do in fact pull their weight by the standards of your own life and contributions that appear to me at least, as worthless as the contents of your thoughts.

Can't we all get along? We are on the same side. This is why we're losing on the Ground, because the Mercs don't trust one another. We need to set an example for them to follow.

Posturing and name calling in front of not only neutral parties, but also our enemy, helps no one. Especially not the reputation of those of us who are busy on the front line. Those of us who have neither the time nor the inclination to clog intergalactic coms with pointless accusations and defamation of character.

Far be it from a lowly intelligence officer to dictate to either of you how you should spend your time, but perhaps both of your efforts would be better spent on serving the interests of the people of the State instead of bickering shamelessly where everyone can see it.

Interesting to watch reactions; not even the slightest consideration for what was aimed to be seeded: purpose, in perhaps a few of those worthless mercs you speak of.

But no, you're not happy with your State, and so you take it out on those who do care.

And while surely I'm not the most qualified to talk about patriotism or honor, I don't see you really educating anyone better. Silent servitude, as usual, while filth like who my statements were aimed to condemn walk all over your name.

And to think I was actually looking to defend people like you, Miss Gesakaarin.

No matter; you're content in your ways, no sense in someone like me trying to interrupt that.

Serves me right.

I think, perhaps, my favourite part of the IGS is the endless parade of people I have never heard of who queue up to tell me how to be Caldari.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I could say something about those of you who squat in wormholes except that I'm FAR too wise to toss around general insults for fear that they might land on someone I didn't anticipate and wouldn't be willing to insult.

Despite your "wisdom" I fear it's maybe a bit too late for that.

"Squat" in wormholes? Only time I ever squat is when I'm taking a ****, Tuulinen. I live in a wormhole system and I'm a former Caldari Militia combat pilot too. My home system is one we fought and bled to take and hold ever since, not to mention investing significant amounts of money while doing so. Today we maintain complete control of said system alongside a coalition of almost half-dozen allied corporations. Sure, it may not be listed as 'our' system on the datamaps, but that is due simply to technological restrictions with territorial claim devices outside of known space. Nothing more. Nothing less. If it was a simple matter of forming an alliance and anchoring a module then you can be assured it would have been done years ago.

This does not make us squatters, but if you believe it still does then I invite you and all your friends to come and try evicting us sometime and we'll see just how that works out for you.

Now that's just one system sir, it's not counting our second system, one in which we've lived for three long, blood-stained, hard-working years. In fact I was killing, dying and fighting off actual squatters in deep space while you were still attending basic training, learning how to iron your uniform and polish your boots.

Now don't get me wrong sir, I have no idea who this Naraish Adam person is personally, and I certainly know of you as a respectable and competent combat pilot, but please try to save the generalizations for the Gallente. There are many current and former State military pilots who call deep space home.

Please read.

Also, Pieter, my outburst was never aimed to tell anyone short of those able to envision themselves as incompetent within the State "how to be Caldari" … and due to the nature of where that post is located in regards to this thread, I think you're wise enough to know what specific kind of incompetence I'm referring to.

At a glance, I don't consider you guilty.

Aye, I'm one of them. And the Syndicate still holds territory there. A little enclave of Caldari power, clustered away in the dark heart of space. Home away from home.

It does serve you right because as far as I can tell you are only capable of framing your thoughts in the style of the worst form of tabloid journalism. Such as:

"But no, you're not happy with your State, and so you take it out on those who do care."

Unqualified supposition attempting to imply that my ire is directed towards yourself only because you care oh so much about the Caldari State? No, my ire is derived from the disgust you engender in me with your attempts to continuously cultivate pity and sympathy with passive-aggressive angst.

I have very little of either pity or sympathy these days, nor do I need the defense or endorsements of those I do not consider my peers, my comrades, or my friends.

Too many wh ore from the teat of the State, Too few patriots remain.

It matters not. Profiteers will come and go. Loosely governed corporations seeking to expand their influence by enticing further employees and associates to their ranks before their eventual and futile delve into the uncharted and dangerous regions are of little interest either.

The State will always be here, As my dear friend remarked, the Syndicate will always be here and so gentlemen, so will I.

Side note; to the honorable gentlemen, I find the very suggestion that Diana Kim is a traitor offensive. I would ask that you deter your slanderous filth to one more deserving.
