FW novice plex Turtle Merlin

Good Sirs;

I sit in Novice plexes all day around siseide/eszur.
To make things interested I don't warp away from any single ship (that can get into a novice plex).

You have advantages being on the defensive:

1) you don't need a point
2) you don't need speed
3) you don't need high DPS

This Merlin fit is called the Turtle (or Testudo). It does not require any implants. I consider it a victory if the attacker gives up in frustration and flies off--so it is all about Tank, Tank, and more Tank.

If you play this fit please note the following:

Always jam the drones first. Once jammed a drone wanders off and you can blast it. You have about a 40% chance on jamming a drone.

Sooner or later you are going to land a jam (battles last 5 to 20 minutes) so you can run for it if you feel chicken--however

Mimatar are easy to jam, as are Executioners and Atons so don't run on the first jam.

Stay with 30km of the base, you are too slow for running to do you any good anyway.

Anyway, if you get bored of running off with your warp stabs, this fit can survive almost anything (well, run from Daredevils and worms).

The other problem are power-draining ships. However all your guns can fire on no power so you can usually outlast these too.


Anyway, if you are going to sit in a Novice plex all day you might as well give this fit a try,

Why the mix of guns? Be best to fit three of the same.

I tried 3 150s, but you need a bit more range in the long fights and I didn't have the grid for more than 1 200. So i had to put in a 125.

I could see where you were going until I saw the gun mix, but if it works for you that's great.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...
