Once they're unlocked, you should be able to collect them at any time until late January.

Also, the 12th was the first day, per the tradition, if you were thinking that you had missed some by only having #12 available.

lol... kinda like New Years Day for Americans. The actual fun is the night before while everyone recovers the next day. One of the reasons so many have that day off.

Yep this is right, you don't have to log in every day to get the gifts. You could log in at any time and collect all those that are available.

And just to confirm the calendar will be available until the end of January although if you have already claimed all of the gifts these will always be in your in-game redeeming system until you allocate them to your character.

Actually Christmas Eve is short for Christmas Evening, as tradition states the new day begins at sundown. So it's technically not the night before, just the night of Christmas, followed by Christmas day.

What people fail to realize is that this time of "Christmas" actually falls on a time when the sun is at the lowest and the days at the shortest and for several days, nothing changes, which is abnormal in the solar "calendar".

For this, just about every civilization finds this yearly time period or cycle to be remarkable, and so religion or not, or other religions, and not having much in the way of science in the days of Olde, much activity is built around it.

Also, a lot of the traditions of this cycle is based on..... food storage. This is especially the case for the more northern climates.

Yeah, food storage.

So by this time, the cheeses are ripe, even the dried fruits are getting to that turning point, and even a well-cured pumpkin has roughly a month left ( I used to raise crops of pumpkins trust me I did tests). Cured animal produce still has a shelf life since they did not have the same recipe of caustic chemicals that Slim Jims have that lets them last for a year, and they didn't have Twinkies either.

Even eggs, which have a long shelf life, don't last forever and chickens in an age without electric lights don't lay much in the darkest days of winter (I also have chickens )

So a lot of tradition and festivals occurred on these times, and something significant was lent to the remarkable solar "death" that occurs from 21-24 December, and they had to eat up that food before the long cold winter too.

Edit: today people complain about putting on weight at this time. Our ancestors did this on purpose because it was necessary to get through winter. Ever go hungry in the winter AFTER already being too thin for lack of food? I have. And believe me when I tell you, you will get sick and actually feel the cold of the grave in your bones. It's not a good feeling.

When the Romans showed up, and the Vikings went Christian, rather than the globalist/bankster driven modern methods of forcing invaded societies to adopt fake democracy and central banking and then try to centralize their entertainment and culture to some Madison Avenue Hollywood driven tripe, the Romans and Vikings pretty much just planted flags and let people be, so a lot of the pagan and Celtic traditions were maintained and adopted into this religious holiday.

For this reason, when the atheists go on their rants against religion (while ironically drawing on a religion called "statism" to get nativities removed from public displays and displaying their own hypocrisy in the process) I like to remind them that in fact much of these "Christian" stuff is not purely so, and was merely people in the past doing something that both modern Christians AND anti-religionists themselves horribly fail at: adapting their own ideals and traditions without foisting on anybody else and everybody having a good time anyway.

Why would these anti-religionists (they are called Athiests, btw) even want to "adapt" traditions to anything, much less towards another altered tradition ? This makes no sense.

Also, God has a really huge problem booking a birthday venue for his Son, because it falls on Christmas.

Good, I was worried I was going to have to change my travel arrangements so I could log into EVE on the 24th...

... then I realised you can collect the items via account management and all you need is a browser and internet connection, so even if that weren't the case, it isn't an issue.

When the ROMANS!!!!!

Why are these gifts so terrible? Why in God's name would anyone get a 100MN MWD as a gift?

That would be too easy. When CCP gives you a gift, they make sure you are good and miserable until you receive it, and then realize it is a Prototype Cloaking Device.
