How can I get FOF missiles to focus fire?

I'm using 2 accounts to run anoms in 0.0

I stuck a second account in a drake with FOF missiles and my primary in another missile boat.
I then squad warped to the anom. The drake fights 95% on its own. My only issue is it spreads the dps between 2-3 targets.
This hurts efficiency..

Up to now I've been doing carrier drone assisted missile ship. I'm just looking for something to improve the isk/hour.

By not using FOFs.

The idea behind FOF was to allow the second account to rat on its own without imput from myself.
FOF missile damage is fairly close to reg heavies.

And that's the point behind FoF's They target things on their own, there's no way around it. In exchange they require no input from the pilot.

ya I was just wondering if there was a way to force the grouped FOF missile launcher to focus fire, just like with drones.

Nah. Grouped missile behave the same way as individual missiles. The only difference is that the launchers fire them all at once.

It would be nice if you grouped FOF's that they would fire like a group Lol

They do fire as a group when grouped...

The only way to ensure FoF missiles all target the same thing is to only have one thing for them to target.

I rarely use FOF's but don't they just target the nearest target?

So if you move close to a particular target without anything else in the same range the FOF's will only fire at that single target.

That would be the only way of guaranteeing your Drake hits the intended target. But then that involves a bit of work moving your Drake around which defeats your intended purpose. P

I think it would be easier to just group your launchers, use non-FOF heavy missiles and manually select each target. Hardly any work, I would have thought, and you get the extra dps over just using FOF's.

Yeah, you can make it happen by ramming your drake into whatever you want to shoot, but then you have to manage it anyway - what you can do is set the drake to approach your main's ship and have your main run down the primaries, in theory the other drake should be congoing right behind you and also shoot whatever you're burning towards if it's closest.

Set your second ship to 'keep at range' to your main ship and let is spew FOF's behind you. I'm going to try that. I like it.

Managing targets for two ships is, really, laughably easy. Even adding in a Noctis salvaging up the leftover site isn't all that difficult. Just keep the sound on, to keep aware of any possible issues -- launchers reloading, tank melting, cap dying, etc -- and cycle through your windows regularly. I had it down to a science within just a few level 4 missions, and from personal experience I can say that Anomalies are much easier to run than missions.

So, don't be lazy. Just use the normal missiles. Learn to micromanage your pilots.

Sounds like you're asking how to bot better.

Hardly. The OP is asking how he can better use a second account, which CCP actively encourages.

The answers given are spot on. Having an alt firing FOF's is a far cry from botting.
