Only 8 Gigabytes? That is insanely low compared to what I was prepared for. Even with high compression the voice work was expected to be in the gigs on its own.

Must be the testing part only.

Same ole theme park mechanics with a star wars name and look. Space combat is on rails from my understanding. Kudos if thats your thing, but dont expect new, unique or innovation. Voice acting doesnt count either. For some reason thats the first thing people mention.

What, people aren't allowed to enjoy simple mechanics from time to time? Its better than WoW...

Implying a fully voice acted, story driven, dating sim MMO isn't revolutionary.

Mako is mai waifu, hands off everyone else.

WoW has kung-fu pandas, so it's clearly the superior product.

Obviously, everyone knows that pandas make a game better, right?

HEY CCP, WHY DON'T WE HAVE PANDA SHIPS?!

Lol who said anything about wow? Why is that the default defensive argument in an MMO debate?

if (person 1 states do not like MMO x);

then (insert WOW derogatory rebuttal);

else if (move to next statement)

Insert a loop as needed.

Could be better but not different..

I dont mind what people play but for some reason people are totting this as the next revolution in MMO's. And well it's not. Voice acting is in other games... Instanced story lines are in other games. The mechanics are the same ole tank healer Dps.

I'm not saying it's going to be bad, but just because it has the words star and wars in it doesn't mean it's going to be great either. Could be that im tired of "classic" sci fi, fantasy MMO genre as well.

I know right, but why stop there! Add them as a fifth race to EVE. I bet that would attract millions of players from WoW and possibly even SWTOR, if CCP chooses the design I have here. This new panda race would fit EVE or any scifi game like a glove.This would be a fitting model for their ships and as a bonus it looks like it could have been made by the CCP guy who designed the new scorpion, so it is a totally realistic option. Naturally they would have to have their own CQ and units for DUST.

Looks totally awesome right?

I'm glad someone shows interest in my thread, and please go ahead and debate all you want. Smile
As for me, I grew up with Star Wars and like all the movies, and I had the old republic games on xbox.

I can already say that I will probably subscribe to SWTOR, and my plan is to post something more about the game here later.

I started the download for the beta, but I didn't have enough room on my SSD so I'm using this as an excuse to go buy myself another 120GB SSD either Friday or Monday. Yes I have a second large HD that is 7200rpm, but damnit I want to run all my games from SSD, I can't go back!

I created Ave Molech and I love ponies.

I started to play WoW recently and I must say WoW graphics and animations are 10 times better than SWTOR.

And yes it looks a bit like a downgraded version of WoW, i just hope for SWTOR community , it will have less assholes than WoW.

Replace lightsaber with 1 HS and xenomorph with spiders and you re back in kalimdor

Its not a sandbox , but more a themepark kind of . I doubt CCP wont have to worry too much about this one ....

I am the only to be really disappointed with the graphics?

I had every graphical setting maxed out and it just felt chunky.

I played lotro from beta and to be honest it is miles ahead visually of SWTOR.

Also for all the people who have had a go at CCP and their character customization.. well Eve is just miles ahead of SWTOR. I could not believe how poor it was.

Have to say I am overall very disappointed with SWTOR

Because 90% of the MMO's on the market are WoW, just with different skins and a new way to run dungeons easier.
