Does killing Rats Give rep

Regardless of if its a Rats nest (green scan) or if its on missions do you get REP per kill??

If by 'rep' you mean faction standings, then no.

I am not sure what you mean by "REP". I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you mean standings, in which case no.

actually if it's the empires rats (cald, gal, amarr, minm) they give standings and also remove

Thanks guys so pirates are pointless besides loot and salvage if you do that. If they are faction rats then you lose faction and gain faction depending.


Reason i ask is some missions you finish simply by scouting or flying near something, yet tons of rats appear so is it even worth my time to clean them out.

My mistake. It's been a long time since I ran a mission so I'm a little foggy on that stuff. If I need standings, it's tags/COSMOS/courier.

You pretty much always lose standing with the faction the rat belongs to.
You never gain standing simply for killing something.
However, you do gain security status for killing pirate rats. Sec status is awarded every time your bounty payment comes in, however you only get credit for the single highest bounty rat you've killed in that time period.

The reason to do this is for bounties/loot.

Also, these kinds of missions are also safe to take against other empire factions, because you can run the mission without killing a single opposing ship, you can take such a mission vs Amarr without hurting your Amarr standings.

I notice my security status increases when I kill pirates if this helps.
