[GRAPHIC] Drone eject, Drone attack

Would be cool to have drone starts look like in the rubicon trailer. Drones actually getting ejected from a bay with some nice steam effects.

Additionally drones should use fly by animations when attacking instead of just circling around their target, so they can shoot forward, the direction where actually their guns are pointing at.

What if they attached themselves to their targets and started burrowing?

They could give all the drone models mini turrets so that at least their guns are pointing at the target.

That would also be a good option. Currently the drone attack looks ridiculous.

My personal answer is no, not than anything else. But they do matter somehow, unless you want to play Dwarf Fortress in Space.

Graphics are a big part of the whole. Good graphics are nothing without a good game mechanic and vice versa.

Normally there are specialicest programmers for both aspects which can work in parallel.

That's seriously what I thought of the first time I saw mining drones. I guess I was a bit disappointed when I realized they just orbited roids and shot lasers, and couldn't do anything to ships like you described. (They can't even mine out Minmatar ships!)
