Long range amarr ships

What would be a good option for an amarr sniper ship, including the weapons and ammo. I don't really want to spend a month training my skills or spend over 500 mil isk for it. I know that artillery and rail guns are good long range but im sure there are different types of them and i know there are a few ammo types for each. So basicly what would be the best and most economical option for attacking frigates and destroyers from more than 50km away.

Oracle is great for camping a drag bubble. As prey stops dead in optimal range they can punch holes in shield tankers very well. The problem is that of the ABC's she's the one with the fat rump. Add that to scorch tracking problems and at 50km you need to choose quick to take the finishing shots or gtfo. The zealot on the other hand doesn't need the TEs or Sebos an orc does. As a result the zealot can lock tackle (if needed) and brawl it out to finish the job.

TL:DR oracle can pop stuff if it has a way to stop targets long enough to lock them and blap them. Zealot costs much more in terms of isk and training, but the engagement window is broader.

I think that the zealot would be the best to try out but i'll also look at the oracle

No reason to fly a zealot ovear a Nomen. Nomen is faster and cheaper, zealot is way slower, way expensive and has a bit more DPS in exchange for no drones nor utility high.

I don't do lazors, but - What about a beam oracle? Would seem to have the sniper thing. Question

As for smaller stuff, forget it. CCP in it's infinite wisdom decided to reserve that role entirely for Caldari with double 10% per level range bonuses and such Ugh

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Pulse 10mn ab coercer, why kill them at 50km when you can take on entire frig gangs punching them in the nuts as you fly by them at 2km a sec immune to their webs and scrams laughing your ass off? It's so much fun :)

An Oracle fitted with Tach IIs can easily reach out to 180 km optimal if you want. You will need max skills, full rack of sebos in the mids and even a sig amp in one low to reliably target out that far, use rigs for scan res as well as one sebo. You can get 235 km targeting range and 900+ scan res which is dangerous if you park your ass about 200 km from where you know ships will be.

The damage will also be high enough to alpha frigates/dessies with a decent hit. You have no prop mod though so it's strictly a land fire a few shots and warp out machine and you will need to work in a system with bookmarks for the most part but I got a laundry list of kills using this when crucible launched by sitting out of gate gun range in low sec. Also the tracking sucks a gigantic amount, frigates that start moving on anything other than approach right when they land can be hard to hit even that far out. Aurora will give a decent punch against cruisers or larger but I recommend Imp. Navy Microwave for frigates as you don't have the tracking penalty and it will hit frigates with much more frequency than Aurora.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

Use a templar, an amarr fighter, used by carriers.

^this.
Still, investing 20 days into Large Projectiles V is a small sacrifice, for the value you get.
