I set this account up a long time ago, never played it however, so it only has 3.5M sp Sad.

Currently sitting in a CNR, and doing a bit research on what to get next. My missiles skills are ok. With CNR i can do most missions pretty efficiently with 700 dps and 380 sustained tank (have a bit trouble with angel bonus room sometimes tho). CNR was a pretty good upgrade from my standard raven.

So right now I am considering two ships to get, one is Nightmare, the other is Golem. With my meagre skills I have to train for both of them and it is gonna take a while., so i need to choose carefully.

Golem
pro
-use my current missile skills
-very good tank
-good range
-put out all 4 types of dps

con
-takes a long time to train

Nightmare
pro
-a bit cheaper
-LASERS!

con
-i have crappy gunnery skills
-only EM/Thermal

If i get a nightmare, the set up would be angels and gurista with CNR and BR, Merc and Sansha with NM. it would be better not just because NM is better at EM/Thermal enemies, but doing missions in different ships are less boring. If i get a golem, then it's him 24/7.

Another thing i want to know about golem is I've seen a lot of fits with torpedoes, but honestly i hate juggling TP, so if i get one i would probably use cruise fury on it. (avoid training for torps).

Why not go Paladin? If I had to train a BS for PvE, that's probably the one I'd choose.

the cnr is an amazing pve ship, one of the best for areas where you will be facing multiple different factions. many prefer it over even marauders.

basically with 3.5mill sp you need to seriosly work on your support skills first before thinking of getting into an even more expensive hull than you are in now. lv4 minimum in most lv5 in the rest and t2 cruise if you dont have it already and at least 1mill in drones.

I'd recommend starting small and starting cheap.

Nightmare:
pro
- one of the best ships for incursions

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.
