Hi i do not often use the forums but was hoping i had an idea of some worth

the recent plex for good campaign was staggering to say the least but i am wondering if more could have been done by players like myself who cannot afford things as easy due to everyday non eveness.

my idea is basically for CCP to make an auction where players can donate ships/items to CCP which can then be auctioned off to the players and in turn the profits from these sales be used to purchase plex and boost the gift to said charity.

hope this is of interest and useful for players who just cannot afford to give a plex but would love to help anybody that needs it.

I dont have the link sorry but there was something like this. There was a 3rd party that was taking donations that all went towards buying plex, so more poor players could contribute. I think it was run by chribba

There were several people doing this already. I don't see why CCP should start stepping on their toes; in fact I think it would be counterproductive.

I believe the reason why CCP only accept PLEX is because that's the only thing that they could directly translate into the real money, getting a ship or pure ISK does not convert to that real life value that of a PLEX so from outside perspective it would be harder for CCP to determine the "right" value in correlation to the real money.

At least that's how I think I remember the reason being in the past. PLEX also allows CCP to do PLEX drives and sell cheaper that they instantly get back when donated, they couldn't do the same with a ship for example.

With this action everyone in eve that buys plex with isk to play is donating their time to the cause.

Some involuntarily though.
