Lol and I stopped reading right there.

Play the game or don't. In other words be at your keyboard.

Let me ask you, ever played a game called Fallout? And then particularly F3 or 'Las Vegas'?
There is an option to auto move through the wastelands, 'q' key I think.
Now in those wastelands there is scum, animals, mutated animals, mutated mutants and they all want you dead.
Tell me, if you play F3 and hit 'q' and go bake a cake, put out the trash or whatever, do you really expect to see your character alive when you come back to the screen? Shocked

Rules of EVE:

Rule No. #1 don't trust anybody.
Rule No. #2 never fly autopilot.

So you could apply this same logic to afk cloakers? If one person should have to be at the keyboard and play the game then we all should.

Yes

The logic being, an AFK cloaker is a Cessna flying over the Wasteland blowing the mutated animals and the mutated mutants kisses while spying on your doings and leavings

ecmgus are passive-tanked. trimarks in rigs, plate and adaptive nanos in low. roughly 70k ehp. give or take. Thats just so you know.

The solution to ganking is to stop flying ships with fits and/or cargo that are worth ganking, it's not rocket science. If people want to stop being targets then stop acting like one so don't look at others for both blame and solution to your problems, look at yourselves.

- don't faction fetish **** fit
- don't haul ridiculous cargo values
- don't be afk
- actually TANK your ships (it's a radical concept, I know)
- stop being clueless on basic game mechanics.
- don't have a big mouth making you stand out
- if you're mining; stop being in the lazy/logical systems

In short; don't be an idiot. Ganking is mostly just Darwinism and we can never have too much of that in EVE.

You can now do all these things and still be ganked in high-sec (don't know about null or WH). Destroyer-Ganking Online is a winning financial strategy that makes ganking anything over a meta-1 cruiser profitable. And if you're in it for the tears, profitable is a distant secondary consideration.

You can stay inside your house and still be killed, but the chances are a lot smaller. And that's the point, it's all about risk management and if you're even remotely competent at that then you're very unlikely to be a target.

As and when AFK cloakers complain about the consequences of being AFK, sure.

So this thread is about a solution to the suicide ganking "problem"?

When did it become a problem?

Oh, apparently right after the gank that the OP doesn't really care about happened. SmileSmileSmile

Well according to QQCats, if enough people complain about something, that means the game is busted.

And a lot of people complain that there's PvP in this game, so...

I can get behind that.

Last time I played chess someone had the audacity to take some of my pieces!

Obviously the mechanics of that game are totally borked and need a complete rethink.

I am fairly new to the game and I love "ganking" retrievers with friends in our destroyers. This game is much more fun than other MMO's I have tried like (WOW, star wars old republic, bunch of other WOW wannabees) I was literally scared then excited killing the first retriever. No other game had that affect on me.

Try roleplaying as a pirate, I think it's fun to tell a story while i blow things up P

Read my story here https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=297126&find=unread

Also, i hope they do more with walking in stations, i mean spaceships are great but some of us want to roleplay or walk around and see things other than "flying in space"

Pi$$ed off Exotic Dancer

I blow up Miners for fun and Dance for entertainment.

Point is this: gankers got my nano plate, 80mil. Fine. 12 catalysts, thats, wait for it,

6.6 mil per pilot.

the ganker(s) stalk a tengu, set up, spend time, for 6mil???!!!

Ok 3 heavy launchers dropped also. lets say 7mil per pilot.

WTF????

WTF.....?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOR 7MIL ALL THAT EFFORT?????

IM EMBARRASSED FOR THIS GANK SQUAD!!!!

i make billions per day in my hole, and im not even trying anymore, and these retards gank for a potential 7mil share?

even if its just one guy, if he ISBoxes, he could make crapton more even in nullsec.

They didn't do it for that 7 mille , they did it to get responses like your thread out of it and MAN they struck gold here ...

Its a huge problem.

2 out of the 4 times it have tried, my ganks failed. Ganking is too hard. We need to buff ganking ships or nerf mining barges.

And make the barges more expensive so they look better on a killboard.

And don't get me started on these kill rights.

On a more serious note. Why don't more people make kill rights public when they don't intend to use them?

I have to agree! My first two ganks were complete failures! Hell, even today I sometimes botch a gank cuz of forgetting to overheat my guns and such.

When you go criminal the client should automaticly overheat your high rack! And what's with these Skiffs and Procurers?!?! They can fit BATTLESHIP TANKS to the point where you need 10-20 catalysts just to pop ONE!!!1!! And those AFK bears still pull in a decent yield in them! It's outrageous!!!

The same rules should apply for the entire community . Shoulp CCP decide they dont want people to be afk instead of at the keyboard playing the game then how could this be any different for those that afk cloak??

Don't know why anyone is surprised that CCP allows and celebrates this kind of behaviour.
Look at what they do to their employees in the name of "charity".

Just watch the twitch feed for the typhoon marathon.
Many of those events went well past the line of "good fun".

So why is it any surprise that they are giving more and more power to griefers?

Doing so would be counter to CCP's drive to make life as difficult as possible for those that choose to use their product (EveO) in ways other than what CCP wants.
