only posability way to bypass distance is by artificial wormholes, but those are never proven to exist, even if they have a endpoint in space.

so this bubble theory of CCP is kind of nuffy, still Mass really do not matters then.
but for gameplay sake, Mass Matters.

Is not a CCP theory, is a classic theme from many sci-fi work. I think the first one was Star Trek:

Yall have it wrong... apparently paying attention isn't taught in school anymore...

Eve Physics.... ship never moves when in warp... space does. The bigger the mass the bigger the oomph.... more oomph equals slower stuff.

I hate it when people derail a good Pudding thread with talk of physics.

What were we talking about again, I'm distracted from eating all this pudding.

In other words warp drive is still fiction.

There is a difference between "fiction", and "theoretically possible but we do not have the technology/power to achieve yet".

Fairies, vampires, werewolves, pixies and deities are better examples of fiction...

We already have werewolves. Fairies and pixies can be achieved with heavy genetic and bio engineering. Vampires are problematic due to the undeath part, but you can create a reasonable facsimile by crossing the DNA of a mosquito, vampire bat, etc., with a powered exoskeleton with a dictamnus albus (which spontaneously combusts to reproduce, i.e. it explodes in daylight.)

Deities are so easy to create that it's been overdone as a meme if you ask me.

What exactly is the reasoning of making bigger SPACEships warp slower than smaller ships?
I mean, those warp speed changes never made any sense to me. The acceleration changes, sure, those make perfect sense. But the warp changes... why would a little ship warp faster than a big ship? Wouldn't that big ship be able to install a much bigger, more efficient warp drive to even out its increased mass? I mean it's just very strange logic...

Or maybe I'm just missing something... feel free to enlighten me.

To make the game more instersting!!! To make smaller ships the fast response ones! To make the game more fun and relevant on the deployment of your forces.

Yeah clearly not at all related to your question or the pointlessness of this redundant repeat of a previous thread Roll

Iron does have a lot of mass and is very dense.

But I feel you are misuing the term.

I think you meant to type;

"Appropriate that you are using what he said in his own post to explain the answer to his question, thats already answered else where. Goodness, Ramona, how do you do it? You're just wasted here."

and Id be like

"Och shucks hunny I just go what I was materialised here to do, spread good vibes to all the Johnny Bad-touches here and make their lives a little sweeter"

Maybe if you were sort of physics expert and/or knew anything about warp speed you could understand your non sensical thinking better to a point where your thoughts would become a lot less cloudy.

Warp speed could simply be achieved by and denominated as, a thing.

- There would be no way to accelarate your speed once in warp.
- There would be no way to make your warp speed be faster than the "warp speed" of the body that is moving.
- Mass could be directly within the warp speed equation

Hence more mass, less speed at warp speed.

Physics.. not your regular online, tic tac toe championships.

It could be where warp speed directly depends on MASS and only MASS, having a bigger (engine) or more powerful whateverprocessorcorerocketsciencepurpolsionmodule could mean jackshit.

1st - You dont know how warp speed is achieved.
2nd - You dont know if its a speed whereas acceleration plays a role or not.
3rd- It could be just a speed that is directly related to your mass, and not your horsepower.

Physics, .. clearly you are a fully incompetent at it.

My opinion on warp speed?
I think warp speed is achieved instantaneously, just like in EVE.. after a certain acceleration, your ship would be brought up to warp speed.
Not an acceleration process from 0 to max warp speed.
But an acceleration to a certain speed, then WARP SPEED..
Max warp speed depending on your mass and NOT on your engline horse power.

Ever watched back to the future?.. that is a good example.

if you post sience at least make sure it's up to date.
this was a celebration fault, nothing exist that go's faster then light, at least not yet discovered.

My Battleship now warps slower than a three legged turtle.

Just one of those things that the good folk at CCP have decided to do.

It is how it is.

Onwards, ever onwards, albeit more slowly.

I suggest reading the Honor Harrington series of Sci-Fi books by David Weber.

Interesting take on acceleration/deceleration as it pertains to space combat.

But basically, the bigger (read MORE MASS) the ship, the longer it takes to accelerate and the slower it would go over the same distance as a smaller (read LESS MASS) ship.

as far as in-game explanation and lore is concerned, warp speed has always worked this way.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

To further make it mind numbingly boring.

Maybe they could take their jumps from battlestar galactica. But even star trek ships go into warp when you hit the button, instead of sitting their, slowly gaining speed only to stop then warp.

Be nice if our ships acted like space vessels instead of airplanes also.
