Rapid Heavy Missile Launchers

Lots of fun but 40s reload time is too long.

Suggest a 30s reload time be considered.

ADDENDUM: I am adding this because of the several posts about trying to 'fix' the Rapid Missile Launchers and because I have been using them since the first day they were introduced, first on my Raven then on my Scorpion NI. I love them and I have used torpedoes and cruise missiles and to date the rapid heavy missile launcher platform has outperformed both of the previous types I just named.

That said, there IS something that could make them better - Option 1: Reload time (regardless of ammo amount) 25s) - Option 2: Reload time is 35s and full complement is 30 missiles as opposed to the currently revised 25 units - Option 3: Reload time 30s with full load remaining current 25.

I as an avid user of the RHML platform would be happy with either of those options (though I'm more in favor of option 1); I understand the principle of game balancing and think the above options could work. Whether they are or not I will still use the RHML launcher system unless CCP increases the time back and/or reduces the missile load.

The reload time does indeed make the module suck ****. You're better fitting cruises and a target painter.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

CCP Rise didn't even address that issue of reload timer when he first posted his Rapid Thread. His response boiled down to "I think it is fine and will possibly consider adjusting it at some unknown time in the future if ever. Cause it works and is cool in War Thunder, thus it will be in Eve Online."

I have completely dropped missiles. Neither Rise nor Fozzie have made any attempt to address the fundamental issues with the missile mechanics. Nor have they communicated any intent to do that. I am not dumping any more time and SP into this broken system. If you don't understand the reasons, I suggest you read the Rubicon-Rapids Odyssey-HM and Retribution-CM threads.

The reasoning is clear enough I bet a twelve-year old can grasp the concept. Which by the way, doesn't speak anything good about CCP 40Sec or CCP Fizzle.

Perhaps a skill that allows you to bring down the reload time? Each level brings the reload time down by 8 seconds.

But yeah, RHML sucks as it is currently is. CCP Rise didn't think this through well enough. Disappointing considering he used to be a EVE pilot himself

There's like hundreds of posts in the last thread complaining about it. Honestly I think CCP realizes that it was a bad idea but not many people are going to admit they made a bad choice. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think CCP gives two cents about people complaining on the forms. They're more tuned in to what some of the big alliances are saying so maybe their feedback is just as negative on this 40 second reload time?

Your other recourse is just not use this module. It's no different when they nerf a ship down. You fly something else. Of course this hurts newer pilots more but Eve is a harsh game.

Please do this, instant missile swap on RLML would be nice. Also keep the current damage it has.

What different missle launcher would that be for my cruiser?? HAMs suck(without gimping tank for application) HMLs suck even worse LMLs do to little damage and it cant fit cruises.

RLMLs where the only viable mid range missle platform.

Well, if you reach Level 5 skill, then the reload occurs instantly. CCP could play around with the numbers. Instead of 8 second, it could be 6 seconds or whatever. Introducing the skill, is a nice "out" for CCP without them acknowledging that they screwed up :)

yeah they suck and have only a very niche role in black ops ganks with Widows. since it is a gank you are unlikely to be on field long enough for the reload to matter, but.. we are talking a straight on gank.. so it really isnt a good argument for the rapid missile crap to exist as they do.

so.. as said in numerous threads now: they suck.

So instead of just fixing one launcher that's broken the broken make a skill that affects all missile launchers. You sir could get a job working for the US government! Big smile

They have very limited use in PVE and PVP... should have 20 secs reload time not 40, that's too much

The RLM and RHM launchers may be less universally useful, but I can see them making great secondary weapon systems. I tried the new RLML's on a mission Gila, and found them to be a great complement to sentry drones, especially as anti-tackle - the front-loaded DPS made them superior to the old RLM mechanic, in my opinion, and I hardly noticed the reload issue. I think I'll also try the RHML's out on an Armageddon fit.

No offense but. I think that is the only boat that goes for, and in the end it is nothing but a gimp overpriced ishtar. If you enjoy them I say more power to you though.
