Getting 100,000 omni ehp out of an incursion battleship is quite easy.

A T2 damage control, a pair of T2 invuls, an EM ward amp, a T2 thermal rig and a T2 core field extender is enough to get a Nightmare to 101,000 omni ehp.

Three midslots, two rigs an one lowslot.

Why are people still using T1 rigs on their T3s?

I tend to fit them to throw them away in pvp. But feel free to pimp the fit however you want.

You dont get 100k ehp from t2 modules, you have to use low-end deadspace. Heres 200k ehp tengu, its about 1.5bil, only used in pulsars tho for 400k ehp with pulsar bonus. But, low dps.

(Legions are better, you can get 150k ehp and 700dps for 850mil - what we use for our home defence fleets, along with 120k ehp 1100dps proteuses)

thanks for the fits but considering I have only 420m ISK I think the tengu will have to sit in my hanger for a long time.

I see loads of people saying that you need to be using 100k EHPs for tech 3 and BS to be able to do anything. Yet for me I can't seem to be able to do that.

On my tengu with subsystems at 3 with 2 invulnerable fields, 1 EM field, 1 medium shield extender 2 and a damage control 2 I can only seem to get about 40k EHPs. Yet I've seen very similar fittings that claim they can give EHP's of 70k.

So what am I doing wrong? Or can you only really achieve a 100k EHP by having all skills at 5?

I can tell what you are doing wrong.

who says about getting info from people. I came up with the fitting myself and no-one in my corp can help since none of them can fly a tengu.

Generally speaking, you always want to use shield extenders one size too large for your ship.

Frigate> Medium
Cruiser/BC/BS > Large

The same of course holds true for armor, which have an "XL" armor plate in the 1600mm.

BS/BC> 1600mm
Cruisers>800m/1600mm (depending on pg)
Frigates> I assume 400m, but I don;t fly frigs enough to be sure.

Another way for ships to get large amounts of EHP is through the use of rigs. A Medium Core Defense Field Extender on most BC gives about the same bonus as an LSE IIRC, and they stack significantly better. resistance rigs can also be used to fill resistance holesthat are too small to bother with using a mid slot for.

Yes you are very much doing it wrong. And doing it right doesn't require many level 5 skills.

Medium shield extenders are fail and should not be fit to cruiser sized combat ships. Any shield extenders that go on a tengu need to be large ones.

You're probably losing a lot using only t1 hardeners/invulns.

subsystem skills at lvl 3 is very wrong. Your defensive subsystem skill especially should be maxed.

level 5 shield management.

doing all those things requires only two level 5 skills, one of which is rank 1, one of which is rank 2. Both of them together should be about 2 weeks of training at most, and you should already have shield management 5 if you're sitting in a tengu. T2 large shield extenders and t2 invulns only require two skills to be level 4.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

I've got most shield items to tech 2 already, the problem is I can't fit a large shield extender in both terms of power grid and CPU. a
Admittedly I might be able to do something about that by training advanced weapon upgrades but the training for weapon upgrades five is 8 days and I want to use that time to get logistics instead.

Yes I'll probadly train all the subsystems to 4 and perhaps defence and offensive to 5 but not sure about the others.

Do you have shield upgrades and AWU to 5 ? that's on top of the other support\fitting skills

So just weapon upgrades, or is that advanced weapon upgrades ? but training both those to 5 is well worth it, put them to 5 in whatever fitting tool you use and you might just make the fit.

I can understand wanting to train something else.

But at this point unless you train some of the core fitting skills you are lacking your dreams of a tengu are just that....Considering CCP buffed T1 logi to the point they are useful you dont need to train logistics yet.

yeah but incursion forces don't accept T1 logistics into their fleet. Its tech 2 or nothing. And as they don't accept any missiles ships nowadays training for logistics is the best way to get into some of that sweet incursion cash.

They dont accept anything at least logi 4. Most prefer you to have logi 5 by now. And again without the proper support skills you wont be able to fit the logi properly let alone rep with it.
