If you could start your post with ashort answer, then if you want to discuss then by all mean do so.

EDIT: for fairness sake, let's rephrase the question.

How would the option not to drop killmail change your playstyle and habits toward pvp?

No.

I engage in pvp to fight, not for kill mails or loss mails. Check my kill board and you'll see I just like to pvp irrespective of the outcome because losing as a new pilot is part of the journey to being as good as I can be at pvp and hopefully a good FC someday.

Really don't have a whole lot of use for killmails. Granted, I'm not a crazy good PVP'er, but it really doesn't matter. Find it silly to brag to people that I'll likely never meet.

Since I'm neither American or Russian, I obviously don't get wound up about KB stats.

Contrary to what my name might suggest, I play for my own enjoyment. Not to prove I'm anything more than anyone else.

It really wouldn't.

What I would really like to see is:

  • Killmails for kills you contributed to.
  • The removal of killboards and the douchey epeen waving they encourage.

The very first part of your post intimates that you are out to prove that you are more than others.

Yeah let's remove killboards so we have no way of telling people/finding out definitively how battles and skirmishes actually went. What a great idea.

Yes

Personally I find killboards extremely useful when joining a new corp, it is a cheap easy way to spot a scam corp where they am going to awox me.

Thus there removal may not affect my PVP directly but may affect my playing the game.

Hope that makes the fella above me happy

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Killing me should be for free.

To answer the question:

While I would still PVP, removing killmails/killboards would diminish my enjoyment of it somewhat. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying, or embarrassed about their killboard.

If killmails would not exist, I'd start with PvP. I never did PvP because I don't like the harrassment afterwards.
Thats why I am a peaceful person in this harsh universe.

Not completely true, there is a third option.
You see I do like a bit of PvP, and killmails being removed would not affect me. And that's because I'm usually logi :D
So no killmails for me anyway.

CCP was looking into incorporating logi into killmails. Though I'm not sure how that would work. Maybe add you to killmails of ships that were destroyed by someone who you repaired/assisted?

you have no way to do it already so what is the problem again?

This is a poorly phrased question.

Who gets the option? What do you mean by "drop killmail"? Why are you even asking this?

And lastly, who blew you up and laughed at your lossmail?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I'd keep on pewing, but I wouldn't have any means of sharing nice kills or embarassing losses with my mates, and they couldn't share theirs with me.

I would, however, remove ISK value from mails, and only show modules that were dropped, not what was destroyed.

Killboards themselves are largely broken (also when they are not literally down), but that's not something CCP can fix. Well maybe except by removing killmails for all kills that take place in hisec.
