Hello

At the moment flying a navy sniperthron but i can target up to 143km with a boost charge, is there any way of increasing this, im using the sensor booster II, my turrets max is 155km.

Would using high lvl implants increase this?

Any help will be welcome

thanks

There are implants for targeting range, but why you want to snipe from that far out is beyond me. Your actual damage output has to be rather low as you're definitely not using antimatter at that range. If for PvE I would think it would be more useful to stay closer to 100KM at least and MJD around, and for PvP you don't want to be 150km away because if you get probed you suddenly have everything warp to 0 km on you.

Both Sensor Boosters and Signal amplifiers extend your targeting range, and they take up different slots (mid and low respectively).

If you can find someone to create a valid squad with, the Information Warfare skill gives you 2% targeting range per level. That person needs to be in system, undocked and in your squad, with which ever one of you has the leadership skills in squad command, but need not be on grid.

Sensor integrity link on a booster ship also increases lock range, but that is a much bigger investment.

Don't use a Navy Megathron for L2 missions. Use a Destroyer or Cruiser instead, you'll be more effective.

What do you mean effective?, what i have have done so far, is one shot each one of the bad guys in the mission and then used a mobile tracktor unit for the spoils

Using a Battleship for L2s is a massive overkill and a waste of time, with a Cruiser/Destroyer, you can be just as fast without having to worry about the sniping element and you can travel/move around much faster which will give you an overall better completion time. Also don't loot/salvage L2s, it's not worth it. Blitz as many as you can to get to L3s where you your Navy Mega is somewhat more viable but still BS are meant for L4s, not 2s or 3s.

Large Ionic Field Projector I (Best solution)
Signal Amplifier II (Uses a lowslot you would otherwise put a tank/gank/range module in)

Long Range Targeting V (Skill)

Someone else here to say don't use a Battleship for L2s.

A Thorax or Brutix with rails will have more than enough range for L2s and won't spend several decades aligning and accelerating/decelerating to/from warp. And any in-mission flying will obviously be done much quicker too.

You will be completing missions much much faster.

Just like you don't bring a knife to a gun fight; you don't bring a tank to a bar-room brawl, even if you can.

All I do is spend pretty much 10 or less mins in a room clear them out then go back to dock, doing security missions.

Warp to deadspace accelerator, warp to beacon, make sure that javerlin is loaded, lock 5 targets, take them out, next 5 if there is any and so on, its quite quick, plus I a lot of the skills to speed up the aligning and warp process already at lvl 5.

Its not that slow the Megathron my afterburner can take it to 400 m/s Big smile

Posting about using Navy mega in lvl2 missions is a very definition of trolling as it incites retaliation and emotional responses.

Then it would probably kill you to know that I used a Raven in level 2 missions way back when I first started EVE.Oops

Thanks for the back up, but this is getting way off topic, all I asked was how to boost my max targeting range, it doesn't matter what I fly, thats my prerogative, please next posts be advice

Thanks

You missed the Sensor Booster II with sensor range script (+60% sensor range).

Also, if you are not alone, Remote Sensor Booster II w/ sensor range script

PS : max sensor range you can reach is 250km.
