Titans should have a siege module like all capitals. When a Titan deploys its siege mode, it virtually become a medium POS. The module have 30 minutes timer, It deploys a forcefield where ally ships can enter like in a POS. The titan cannot move, it is immune to warfare it can bridge and use its weapons, its resists and hitpoints are upgraded (to become equivalent of a medium pos)
If the forcefield is attacked it will fall down when the titan is on structure.
The titan siege mode cannot be activated at less than 100km of another forcefield or a gate or a station.

You know that some benefits come with some disadvantages or risks?
How about letting it light up on the overview, systemwide?

Should shield hardeners on the Titan work like the shield hardeners on a POS when in bismarck mode?
What about armor hardeners?
Should self-rep modules work?

no: if a titan can siege and have all the benafits you listed then i sugest as an alternative

general rules for module use:
can not activate this module within 50km on another titan (although you can activate this mod then jump titans to it.
can not be activated within 50km of a station/gate/starbase
can be used in low and null sec
can not be activated within 1 min of the titan jumping.

bonuses: in "siege"

+50% all shield / armour resistances (caps at 95% total resistance)
deploys a force field:
-- this forcefield will not bump out enemy ships but will protect them from being targeted. once outside the forcefield they may not re enter.
NO RAW HP BONUS
+100% turret damage + optimal
+100% doomsday damage.
+200% bonus to sensor strength and scan ress
+deploys a Cyno bridge while in this mode (needs fuel "liquid ozone" 2000" per cycle)
+100 bonus to personal active repairs

drawbacks "siege"

can be targeted and pointed as normal.
shield only has a 15km range from centre point (30km from side to side)
is immobile for 30min
becomes vulnerable to electronic warfare
uses 90% of cap per activation
can not receive remote assistance while module is active
unable to use jump bridge (cant be used to jump fleets while in this mode)

module: tactical starbase adapter I(TSBA)
tactical starbase reconfiguration <-required skill. skill reduced fuel use by 5% per level
uses 5000 stront per cycle
can not jump for 5 min after cycle completes
uses 90% of cap per activation
deployment of forcefield initiates a weapons and log off timer
has fitting requirements of 2x doomsdays

with this module an aliance could use a titan as a mobile base of operations for short stays in enemy space, but would need to protect it as it is incredibly vulnerable in this mode although it would pack a serious punch

Yes of course the risk for the Titan is huge. But a Titan in siege mode should not be alone. The idea is to create a safe place in the middle of a combat zone where capsulers can reship and repair. The siege module could also boost the command warfare bonuses fitted on the titan...
Of course the tank, the way it can be repair, and the way it get out of siege must bebrainstormed. But here is an idea to give use to this mothership.

Yes if a Titan jumps in the middle of a fight with no gate, no other POS bubble, no Station at less of 100km it can use its siege mode to desorganize the ennemy fleet if he have the balls to siege in a place where hostiles are already in fight and locked there for 30mn.

the entire enemy support fleet is dead except for one interdictor a titan could easily finish off with drones  - Commander Ted

So one out of corp titan to save an entire super cap fleet is all that you need, activate POS bubble, all the
'trapped' super caps jump out now they can't be targeted.
