Missiles and midslots

Currently there is no module for the mid slots that effect the missiles you shoot yourself, while turrets can use tracking computers in their midslots.
Should there be a missile module for the mid slots?

My own suggestion would be a module that increases missile velocity a lot but also reduces flight time, this would give missiles a faster damage delivery.

my suggestion would be to change how the missile damage formula works first. Adding missile modules isn't typically necessary because webs and tp already affect the only attributes missiles rely on for damage application. Unless we got some kind of lowslot missile explosion velocity module or midslot missile range/velocity mod I don't think any new modules would benefit the game

Webs and painters, surely?

If missiles gain Tracking Enhancer type modules, then Tracking Disruptors should also affect them.

OR

If missiles gain Tracking Enhancer type modules, then the missile formula should be altered to make them actually "miss" their target even within their engagement envelope.

We already have mid slot target painters. A low-slot passive Ballistic Enhancer would do the trick (20% missile velocity, 10% explosion radius and 10% explosion velocity).

At the very least a range module should be cpnsidered for the benefit of minmatar ships and things like malediction or sac. It could also push the whole caldari sniper concept a bit further allowing for a choice between instant damage of a set kind at extreme ranges or delayed damage of any kind

No - it's all or nothing. We either get a comparable module to the passive Turret Enhancer, or forget it. Those of us that use missiles are tired of being CCP's whipping boy and having our SP training constantly marginalized. The problem with missiles is damage application, and until this is addressed all these "band-aid" fixes are more akin to amputations.

this I would see working.

So that like guns you get some motivation to fly well. I land, sit still, and press f1 then its on me to not even try to play my own traversal games to have guns hit more. This would be nice to see on the missile side. So long as there is a guarantee like with guns when you hit you actually hit for good damage.

I know from using arty for example I get my fair chance to miss a target. I accept that. As I know when I connect I can connect hard. Missed missiles for the chance of these big money shots I could live with. Mainly because I know with enough speed and lower sig radius my ability to always hit a target is academic as an advantage really. Am I hitting them? yes. Is the damage good? No, sometimes it can be utter crap.

As soon as missile damage application isn't pure ****, I'd support either idea. Until then, hell no.
