Module overload indicator needs to be much more visible

Right now, you have a small green icon, which glows brighter green when the module is being overheated, blinks bright green while overheat is queued, while the module pulses green indicating that it's active. This design is absolutely terrible. It can be hard to tell (especially in heavy lag) if my overheat is actually queued or if it's just the regular green pulse of an active module.

My suggestion would be that the icon is green while not overheating, flashing yellow while overheat is queued, solid red while overheating, and flashing red while deactivating overheat.

Ill go ahead and say yes, this is a good idea.

Maybe have it go blue instead, though yellow will do too.

^^ Blue while overheating.

The more color diversity between states, the better.

The button itself is large enough to see if it is overheated. It could stand to be a different color. I like Lugia3's suggestion of blue for overheating. Maybe light blue for This Module will be overheated on the next cycle and dark blue for this module is currently overheating.

The button does need to be bigger though, for clicking purposes. The size, shape, and position of the overheat this module button makes it hard to click. I sometimes simply click the overheat the entire rack button because it is easier to hit.

CCP trawl through F&I. They do see stuff. Just because they don't implement "Crazy idea for solving AFK cloaking once and for all #3338922" doesn't mean they aren't reading. Watching. Studying.

I disagree with your idea though. The entire button should glow red when overheating, then blink when overheating is turned off. Preferably with flames coming out of the UI as well, melting your computer when heat level gets too high (although CQ already does that I guess).

Maybe have the entire mod that is overloaded blink in rapid succession so you don't forget? Sometimes in quick fights I forget as a lot is going on. And sometimes when i'm in 10% tidi i also forget since it takes so long for anything to fully cycle.

Good idea though I would do away with flashing of any kind entirely if possible, just various (eyecatching) "solid" colors.

Bigger rack-overheat buttons wouldn´t hurt either, I guess...

Alongside the button change, easier to turn on/off would be great also, the current mechanic needs very fine control.

Overheat could also be more reliable to turn on / off

Making the whole button gradually change colour perhaps?

Cant believe this is getting so little response, its one of those little things that is easy to implement, has no drawbacks and improves the module UI.

Agreed

And it should avoid obvious variations of green/red

And while posting in GD might feel better for your ego.

Posting in F&I can actually change stuff.

So it's comes down to wanting something to happen or wanting your name on EvE GD.

You have my kitchenknife .... both the way heating shows as the way the damage to the mod shows could be a bit better for me.

Nothings worse then having a 1vs1 and getting the guy into structure .... and then your missiles/guns stop working as the mods are destroyed.
