Those who try way to hard to suck up to goons - well - you both found out.

They can be mean but they aren't stupid.

James and Erotica are almost certainly not the same player.

James is a SA goon who spent 3 years in Goonfleet. Erotica spent a few months in WIdot and behaves like you would expect someone, who for the most time only knew Goonswarm from the outside, is now enthusiastic to be part of the in-group and is desperate for recognition of said group, to behave.

When Erotica was called out on her behavior she first fought back aggressively (calling goons names because they are not "goony" enough to meet your expectations is not so smart...) and then folded completely, apologized and finally quit WIdot.

James would have had no reason to join WIdot (instead of Goonwaffe) in the first place, he certainly would have had the commonsense and the experience with goon culture to avoid creating such a situation on the goonfleet forums, he would have deflected the criticism much more gracefully (James can write, Erotica cannot) and seeing how part of the accusations was "trying too hard to be goonier than goons" and "a pubbie talking down to other pubbies" you would think he would have slipped in being a SA goon and well-known former Goonfleet member at some point before being pushed into quitting his corp.

edit: What James and Erotica have in common is that both prey on some players' love for rules. The idea that you can write a huge manifesto, promote it everywhere and then follow it mostly but disregard it at will (because the New Order are the good guys and can per definition do no wrong) seems to be really hard to grasp for some players. For every miner that claims the New Order has violated the Code there is another one who can testify in favor of their strict adherence to the Code.

Erotica operated in a similar way - often honoring the rules of her game in the first or second round while modifying/breaking them whenever she felt like it ("I didn't see your payment, send it a second time with a screenshot of both payments") and setting the rules for her bonus room in such a way that she was guaranteed to win without having to scam (but then breaking the bonus room rules to give 2nd and 3rd chances for additional humiliation). For every player who complains about having been scammed others can truthfully state that they had their isk doubled by Erotica 1.

When neither "Completely disregards his own rules" nor "Always sticks to his rules" applies, something seems to break in some people's minds. James 315 and Erotica 1 both exploit(ed) that effect.
