Exactly how hard is it to scan a 'yurt' mobile depot

I tried to find out how the probe-able indicator works but failed.

If you could explain what is needed (scanfrig with scanmods and skills etc) to scan one down, that'd be awesome.

cheers,

Combat probes.

Its helpful to set up a filter in the scanning options, you can make one that displays any or all of the Deployable player structures.

i think he was talking more about the math behind scanning something down.

i know it matches the targets sensor strength with the scan strength of your probes, but the exact math eludes me atm.

so the Yurts having 400 ss makes them alot harder to scan down then say... the basic one wich has what? 50?

edit: yeah, it will be harder to scan down, but if you have all 4/5 skills and a few of the scan mods and/or implants it shouldn't be that hard with combat probes.

I have not tried the 'yurt' version myself, but the standard is very easy to probe down.

People that tested it on Sisi claimed implants were necessary to scan down the Yurt.

Haven't tested it myself.

Easiest test is on Sisi. Just drop one on yourself and then scan it. The yurt is quite difficult to scan down.

Well trully its impossible for almost anyone.

it has a sig of 50m / 50sensor = 1
it gets impossible when its somewhere under 0.8 / 0.7

Now if for say you where orbiting it with a SB with a local sensor booster giving you something like 0.6 and remote sensor it giving it a sensor strength over 100 it gets a sensor strength of 0.5 impossible to scan down completely. (including your SB) (if you where to do that the 'wetu' would be plenty btw...)

Most case's your average null pilot wont be able to scan it down, on the other hand your WH explorer or lowsec pirate will be able to in some cases they have scanning alts. Or any pvp player but i mean when roaming you are not there to hunt structures in space...

It is no longer possible to make an object completely unscannable. There is a hard cap on the effective signature/sensor strength ratio. I do believe that scanning an object at that cap requires maxed out skills (including Covert Ops skill) and scan strength modules, or Virtue implants.

it's a 500m sig at 400 strength. so that makes it 1.2 or something, right?

I guess i have to hop on sisi and try it.
