I am pleased to announce the swiftisk.com micro lottery site is now up and running!

As a launch promotion the first 100 accounts will be credited with a balance of 9.5million isk.

About Swift ISK

Me and a RL friend have been working on a joint project swiftisk.com, a simple gambling site designed to help you make some ISK. Unlike other sites it focuses purely on ISK and allows you to deposit and withdraw as you please.

Lotteries range from 10 million isk to 1 billion isk! Consisting of 9 to 15 tickets. Once all the tickets are purchased a winner is chosen at random.

A few quick notes about Swift ISK

- Deposits are API based and are processed every 30 minutes.
-SSL is enforced for login and registration. You can check the SSL health by using Qualys SSL Labs, here https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=swiftisk.com
- Passwords are 256-bit blowfish encrypted. Even we don’t know the passwords, when you request a new password we send you randomly generated one. (We recommend against using your EVE account password, but understand some people are likely to)
- Withdrawals are a manual process and currently take anything up to 48 hours. We will be looking to improve this as Swift ISK grows with potential employment opportunities
- The winning ticket is randomly chosen when the final lottery ticket is purchased.
- You can play out of game, only registration deposits and password resets require you to be in game.

How do I get started?

- Use the in game browser navigate to Swiftisk.com
- Add the site to your list of trusted sites
- Click the register button in the top right hand corner
- Set a password of your choice and you’re ready to go

How do I deposit ISK into my SwiftISK account?

- Using the IGB Log into SwiftISK
- Click the Account button in the top right hand corner
- Click the Deposit Button
- Deposit the desired amount of ISK to the corporation shown ("Swift ISK")
- Deposits are API based and are processed every 30 minutes. You can monitor where you are in the update cycle against your Swift ISK balance

How do I withdraw ISK?

- Log into Swift ISK
- Click the Account button in the top right hand corner
- Under Withdraw ISK select the desired amount you wish to withdraw and click Request
- Wait up to 48hours for your payment to be processed. During this time you can still play Swift ISK and deposit more money if you desire. You will not be able to make further withdrawals until the outstanding one has been completed.

If you would like to know more or have feedback you would like to pass on please send me a in game mail or private convo me if you see me online. I am happy to answer any questions and receive any feedback.

I Hope you enjoy SwiftISK.com

Passwords can be encrypted any way you like in your database - it still won't help when they're transmitted in plaintext over the internet as the site doesn't run SSL.

Especially if you use your EVE name and password.

Absolutely. SSL is something we plan to implement for login. Even once SSL is implemented we will encourage you to use a password just for SwiftISK but do recognise that people are likely to use passwords in more than one place. The storage of passwords has been carefully thought out in light of recent attacks against Adobe and others, but it only provides part of the solution.

SSL will help to protect against MITM attacks on your account, which seems unlikely to happen on an EVE Micro-Lottery. However it's something we will work towards for our next update. Thanks for the feedback.

Updated: SSL is now available and enforced for login and registration. You can check the SSL health by using Qualys SSL Labs, here https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=swiftisk.com If anyone has any further security questions don't hesitate to ask.

Whether it's buying a lottery ticket or playing the numbers at a roulette table, every time a capsuleer gambles, a grievous sin is committed. "Surely not," someone responds, "I thought gambling was only a sin if you let it develop into a problem." Hardly! To say gambling is a sin only if it develops into a compulsion is like saying watching pornography is wrong only if it results in an addiction. Gambling is always sinful because it emanates from a spiritual motive God summarily rejects.

Omir Sarikusa tells about a farmer who one day reported to his wife with enthusiasm his best cow had given birth to two beautiful calves, one red and one white. He told his wife his intention was to dedicate one of the calves to the Lord. "When the time comes to sell them," he said, "we'll keep the proceeds that come from one calf and give the proceeds from the other to the Lord." "Which calf do you plan to give to the Lord?" the wife asked. "No need to decide now," said the farmer. "We'll treat them both the same and later sell them as I said." Several months later, the farmer entered the kitchen looking very sad. When the wife asked what was troubling him he said, "I have bad news. The Lord's calf is dead." "But you never decided which was to be the Lord's calf," his wife said. "Oh yes I did," he insisted. "I had always determined it was to be the white one — and it is the white calf that has died."

It is always the Lord's calf that dies — unless we are clear about the true nature of our possessions. Everything we own, not just a part of what we own, God provides to use for His purposes — the health and well being of our family and for the great task of promoting True Verities — not to throw down the rat hole of games of chance.

I will comment that, at the least, the cut these guys take of their microlotteries is similar or somewhat lower than those on SOMER. So as far as bang for your buck is concerned, they're not bad.

I wish you guys luck in your endeavor, though see a few potential problems you may run into, of which I'm sure you're aware. Namely convincing people to invest their ISK in a separate system when they're already invested in a more known one.

Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it. There are definitely some challenges ahead, for the most part we're seeing how things go and will deal with them as they start to become a problem. Worrying about processing withdrawals quickly, scaling the site etc is all something that could be irrelevant if people decide the site isn't for them.

Yeah. When I was contemplating opening up micro-lotteries on myEVElotto, I had the same sort of thoughts. Ultimately it came down to the cash out system. Being able to automatically deposit was nice. Having to manually cash out is tedious. I just didn't care to have to be that on top of things to constantly be paying out to people. Blink

Your biggest hurdle is going to be convincing people to use your system instead of a more established one. Get creative, and you'll likely find more interest. Right now, you don't seem to offer much beyond what's already offered, so it could be tough.

SwiftISK now been running for a day and so far there has been lots of traffic to the site and fair few new players. We have had some great constructive feedback.

I would very much appreciate more feedback, whether it be how to improve visuals or just your general thoughts.

The 9.5M ISK is still available on signup. Any profits made until the 7th december will go to the PLEX FOR GOOD campaign.

Been playing for a couple of days and had some fun. Won a bunch of money, lost a bunch to a corp mate who was playing... Roll
The site has a lot of potential and will work as a nice ISK only alternative to the other sites out there.
