Make sure you run ALL the tutorials. They will teach you about all kinds of aspects of the game and provide valuable cash and ships to get you started. You should have been added to the rookie help chat, which you can ask questions in and (usually) get good answers. You can also ask for help in corp chat and on the forums if you can't figure something out. Or feel free to query me any time I'm online. :)

1. Did you complete all the tutorials?
2. What do you like to do?
3. What type of gameplay are you interested in?

Also more specific questions help.
As does showing you dont expect handholding and that you did some background research yourself.

I feel for you man ... I tried playing tonight and I was so lost. It took me 2 minutes just to figure out how to quit the game.

I look forward to learning how to play, but even the tutorials are a little rough. The very first one I am doing has me clicking on things that I can't find.

When I started playing, the tutorial was basically "This is your ship, these are your guns. This is an NPC. Oh, and he's hostile and is shooting at you. Good luck, welcome to EVE."

That's when I fell in love. <3

Hehe, EvE's hard but quitting the game is ESCAPE like every other game ever ;) (anyone remember when it used to be X or Q to quit games..)

I believe the tutorials now a days have an image of the icon you need to click.

First thing I'll advice you to, is to arm yourself with patience. After that's done, sit down and do some research on the game. Also you might want to research the use of proper grammar and social interaction in order to leave a good first impression on people, thus making them more likely to help you.
