Can we turn off the new jump animation?

My feedback is that:

1. During a jump, we can turn the camera with the RMB, so why not the LMB? It appears it was intended that we not turn it at all, but why not? It looks cool.

2. The sound effect contains the "target locking" sound effect amid the fizzes and slooshes. It sticks out as an ugly distraction.

3. At least for the start of the animation, the previous stargate sound effect was much, much better. It had focus. This one doesn't.

4. The cardboard grey clouds just look really cheap. It's better than a black screen and loading bar, but you have to admit it's a really cheap effect to be seeing in 2013 (and the future).

5. Finally, the "skybox wobble" at the end also looks just really cheap. It looks like something someone would make when learning Unity (this goes for the cardboard clouds too). Just these two things look like really, really low-spec effects.

So from your last response it seems that because something is affecting someone negatively it should be chaged. I can see merit there, but is it an "I get seasick from wobbles" or is there an actual photosensitive response that could be harmful?
I'm sure theres a blanket disclamer on anything you play nowdays that there may be flashing lights and moving cameras and that you experience this at your own risk.

CCP is obliged to nothing more than services paid. Don't bother throwing a hissyfit from lack of communication, you or I am not important enough to be walked through every or any stage of their development.

Why shouldn't we have a switch?

Because we don't need it and it adds nothing.

If you cannot bother to read.. do not dare to write. Simple as that. Now .. go read or SHUT UP and go back to your useles hole where trolls come from, because writting in a thread without even readign it can be ignorance, stupidity or a troll attempt.

Some people may perceive a need and it would certainly add quality of life to others. Whether you are for or against an off switch, not understanding this makes you look a little slow.

No need to launch a personal attack for an answer to a question, that is childish behaviour.

A lack of empathy towards people who have problems with the animation may be percieved by them as a personal attack from you.
Strange thing perception, i`m sorry the observation offended you. :(

Simply adding the ability to "turn it off" is a cop-out, and leaves us in the position where we have a sub-optimal animation in game that some people are unhappy with and choose not to use. The jump transition, much like the warp tunnel, is here to stay as a replacement for loading bars, and therefore it has to be good for everyone, and has to function as intended.

We will stress though, that we hear your concerns and we're in the process of exploring various avenues for resolving them that include work on the camera and work on the animation itself to smooth it out and alter how it flashes and scrolls, however this is something that will take time and won't happen overnight.

Again, thanks for all the feedback, both positive and negative. It's being taken on board, and we're looking to make changes based on the things that you guys are concerned with the most, without removing the transition completely.

In that light, I would like to say that I like the jump animation far more than a black screen and loading bars. I feel it adds to the game. I think perhaps if you could reduce the effect of it swinging around you would reduce the complaints from a dull roar down to a soft whimper. Keep up the good work!

Lets remove graphic settings then. Everybody should use same graphic quality and effects just because "it adds to the game".

As has been repeated many times in the course of this thread, adjusting the swing may help at least some of the nausea effects. However, it does nothing to change the pulsing/lighting effects which are being cited as a headache/potential seizure triggers.

I fall into that last group (migraine headaches after just a few jumps), hence why I have such an interest in seeing this matter resolved.

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.     _ - Kina Ayami_

Lack of empathy is the absence of it, relating that to an offensive is most curious, please do explain your logic. I cannot for the life of me follow any train of though that they would cross.

I beg you pardon oh honourable forum warrior.
I can never live up to the time you invest to greatly research and read ever shard of text on topics and threads.

But seriously who the hell do you think you are to tell me my opinion is less on these forums?
Seems like you need a reassesing of your attitude. Because last i checked there was no rule on this forum saying that you are above anyone.

I would point out that your opinion is less by your own admission, as an uninformed opinion is the lesser opinion. As long as you choose to remain ignorant of the issue at hand, others will give less weight to your statements.

Basically, if you want others to listen to what you have to say, first you should make sure you know what you're talking about.

You are of course allowed to carry on just as you are, but don't expect anyone to pay much attention to your arguments. Showing a lack of knowledge of a subject reduces your credibility; show an unwillingness to learn and that credibility plummets.

So according to you...

tldr: read the 85 pages or gtfo?

Right. You can hide behind the notion of that all you want.

person A . I have physical difficulty with this situation is it possible for a workaround or fix.

Person B I am prepared to recognise person A`s suffering

but I am not affected so I do not feel or care for person A.
It is quite possible that this would offend person A

Acting at least slightly abrasive towards GD in general and expressing a little ignorance

I haven't played EVE except to change skills since a few days after the expansion because of motion sickness. And also to check whether an option had been added to turn it off. But no luck.

I am not the only one. Why don't you care that people are getting ill playing the game you develop? I've been playing EVE since 2003. Do you think I am BS-ing?

Yeah this is a pretty terrible feature, I can't believe that CCP didn't even consider that some players might want to disable it.

To think I was against Dust and WoD, all the time it was delaying dev time from worsening Eve. Roll
