Increased Player Ship Salvage

One more awesome reason to blow other people up.

CCP, does this stand for something previously refered to as 'tech2 rig manufacturing changes'?

If it does, then I have to say that these changes are absolutely moronic. Tech2 rigs have already lost their ultra-rarity appeal and are pretty much a commonplace nowadays. And you decided to make them even cheaper?

How about no? It's pretty obvious that it would be a lot better to alter build costs for the rigs themselves instead of increasing drop rates across the board. Weapon rigs are already dirt-cheap while some stuff (tech2 polycarbons or semiconductors) is a bit expensive (or at least can be considered as such - unlike current tech2 rigs in general, which are pretty affordable, especially for M and S ships). Come on, get real.

Please, tell me that I'm mistaken and increased Player Ship Salvage isn't meant to drop tech2 rigs prices down even further.

I was rather assuming that this referred mostly to t1 ship salvage - it's a bit depressing when a player BS has the same or worse salvage as an NPC BS, and afterall t2 salvages can still get a you a pretty penny from t2 wrecks.

But I'd also like CCP clarification, I can't see a particularly good reason for boosting t2 player salvage significantly.

I doubt it's worth mentioning as another

More tech1 salvage? Yay, I'll get 1mil from a battleship wreck instead of 500k. Awesome, indeed Lol

I would agree that if the goal is to bring down the cost of T2 rigs, the better way of doing it is to balance bill of materials. Some t2 rigs are crazy expensive, while things like t2 weapon rigs are dirt cheap. Of course some of both might be needed if the demand increases.

I will say this: I've salvaged 7 absolutions and have gotten 0 plates. I mostly got the very low end t2 loot, and 1 time got 7 power circuits (still only worth 10 mil). This is all on Sisi. I've gotten 7 intact plates off a single absolution before on TQ, but I don't know... seems strange to not see 1 by now..

Still interested Attention

Come on, get the basics addressed: it's hardly a good idea to let some tech2 salvage components lay there getting stockpiled endlessly while leaving several bottlenecks untouched.

Dirty cheap T2 weapon rigs?

You're kidding.

Last time I checked even Large tech2 weapon rigs were like 40-50mil per unit. That's not what I call high-end gear.

Reducing the price even further serves no particular purpose other than making tech2 rigs available to everyone. But why would anyone want them be available to everyone? It's just stupid.

Especially so if it's not followed by introduction of something new, better and more expensive.

Balancing rig prices (and not just T2) should be done by balancing the rigs themselves. Everyone and their dog uses armour and shield rigs (which are hideously unbalanced), but there are several rigs that are just totally and utterly useless. Other potentially useful ones have prohibitive calibration costs.

Rework rigs in general, balance calibration and penalties, and you might actually create some demand for all those currently worthless types of salvage.

Like maybe a new size rig to be used for capital ships?

I'd love to see that, but I was thinking of faction/tech3 rigs or something alike. Something hard to get.

Capital cargo opt rigs for orcas, rorqs and freighters would be awesome, but so would t3 rigs, and I think that if they are increasing t2 salvage drops, it's for that reason, but, at the same time, would t3 rigs not require WH salvage to be completely redone (to make sense RP wise), perhaps making increasing t2 salvage drops pointless?

Crucible features page still lacks distinct description of what exactly is being changed in regards of salvage.

That's like saying "we are tuning down supercarriers" without giving exact data.

By increasing the drop rates this increases the supply of T2 rigs & Brings the prices right down.

This makes them more viable for PvP ships so I'm all for an increase. Twisted

They are already viable and very affordable. There's no point in making tech1 rigs redundant.

LOL

Yet another poorly thought-out decision Ugh
