Blood 5/10

I've run the 5/10 blood raider psychotropics depot about 8 times now. I used to get an ashimmu bpc and several hundred mil of deadspace/faction loot every time.

However, the past 2 times now it has dropped only the 18th tier overseer's personal effects. No BPC, no loot, nothing else cept a meta smartbomb. ****! Is it typical that sometimes a non-drone DED site will drop only the OPE?

Some would probably say that it's the norm for DED sites to drop only the OPE.

RNG is random, two is not sufficient sample size to draw any conclusions, etc.

But yeah, what you saw is normal.

If not a troll, then answer me this:

How do you think the modules you have gotten in the past have the value they do? Do you think they are static prices set by the players? Set by CCP? No.

Its simple: rarity. If amazing modules dropped every time, supply would increase greatly and thus prices would plummet.

Try to use some logic before posting. Also do some reading about probability and statistics.

Not sure what you're talking about. I was asking if it these sites always drop deadspace loot or if they occasionally only dropped ope's.

As has already been mentiontion in this thread multiple times, no deadspace loot or BPC is guarenteed to drop.

Which is a stupid question, if you have any sense of logic at all.

While I understand Salazar's trolling of someone who didn't bother doing ANY research at all before posting, I'll break this down simply for you:

When exploring, NOTHING is guaranteed. Anything you get is by the grace and good will of our holy RNG gods. The only things that can improve your chances of getting shiny stuff are sacrifices of Exotic Dancers, Spirits, and Toxic Waste (leave them in jetcans near the sun in any system whose name both starts and ends with a vowel).

Technically, you're guaranteed a chance of getting loot :P

But yeah, overseers can drop OPE only, they can drop OPE and random meta crap, they can drop OPE and a faction mod, they can drop OPE, 3 faction mods, a BPC and an implant and give you T2 salvage, or they could even drop no OPE or faction/deadspace loot.

There's no info because they were only added a few months ago whereas most of the others have been there for years :P

I personally updated/added the Gurista and Sansha ones but haven't done the Blood Raider 5/10 yet.

Its exploration bro. Grow a set and accept that you're EXPLORING and you might come across some UNKNOWN things (haha see what I did there? Its funny cause complexes have the signature type "unknown" Haha get it?).

But really, go back to missions.

I have been doing exploration for a while now, and from my experience in doing 4/10's, I can tell you that it is indeed quite random, but not perfectly so.

I have just recently done my 30th 4/10, and while overall it has been extremely profitable, you will find that there are times when you will get a crap drop many times in a row.

My last encounter of this was 11 4/10's in a row dropping nothing of real value at all. Then a day later, I make over half a billion in a few hours in faction loot.

I dont think that the so-called RNG gives you "perfectly random" ( mathematically speaking ) drops, but the drops definitely are chance based.

Just keep at it, some days are a waste of time, others make you hundreds of millions a pop.

What people fail to take into account is that the sites' drop chances are not isolated for each individual player. This is true in invention as well. The overall drop rate, that is all players running the site, is likely very close to what it should be. But individually, it is highly likely and something I know I have experienced, that streaks will occur. These streaks even out over time though and if you were to pool data from every player running the site, I'm willing to bet the results would concur.
