Twitch TV integration testing.

Capability is currently available on Sisi for testing.

Anyone tried it out?

Feedback?

Attempts by me to use it 12-2-13 gave me a un able to log into twitch message.
Must not be fully active yet.

Anyone get a different result.

CCP confirms is currently broken.

Also a revert function to your previous screen size and window location would be nice.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.

Should be working, appears we have a defect.

For some reason it's failing to get the authentication token. Investigating now.

next to the login issue, there's something else:

When I drag the Twitch button from the Social folder right to the Neocom, it gets removed from there once I close the twitch login window.

Okay Twitch is on the test servers guys and appears to work. Have at it and give us your feedback.

Please note that this is a fairly basic implementation, we want to see how useful this is to you all and if this is something you want us to pursue.

Stream stops after a few seconds with:
Twitch: error submitting frame data: TTV_EC_FRAME_QUEUE_TOO_LONG. Streaming stopped.

Resolution 1920x1200

Also switching back and forth between two the same resolutions doesn't result in a countdown dialog on subsequent switches - only the first switch has a dialog.

Changing the resolution to 1024x768 also didn't help

I tested it and it worked as advertised, however, in order to stream the window is resized to a resolution. and I can't use the resolution I'm using normally. This affects my gameplay to much.
pls add more resolution options before implementing it on tranq :D

Same here. I do run EVE in fixed window mode at 1920x1080, but that resolution is not available on TwitchTV settings.

Anyway, unless a lot of features are planned for it it will be very hard to use it instead of a full featured - highly configurable third party software like Open Broadcaster and many others.

The resolution constraints come from twitch.tv, so sadly there isn't much we can do about that.

hmm then I honestly think it will only be used for scouting purposes, and not many people will use it to show off their OP skills.

We are not looking to compete with out of client broadcasting tools, but rather give people a taste. We want to see what kind of interest there is in the feature and then build on that.

We would like to allow players to stream a resolution independently of their clients resolution, but as a first implementation this was scoped out.

You can expect more details in a Dev Blog which should be out soon.

... Except that much of the player base uses 1920x1080 (that's basic high definition resolution).

First tried shadow play (nvidia), required full screen to be set (I use fixed window :-/)

Now eves interation can't support hd (not being negative as have yet to try it). I'd be disappointed if it doesn't support some basic resolutions.

Now if its on twitches end, so be it... but I would ask twitch...

Yaay!!!!

Heyy trialed my streaming from the client today and looks alright so far... didnt seem to affect my loading and game performance much at all which was a surprise.

The issue i have is that my stream only stays up for 7 seconds then cuts out. regardless of resolution etc...

Also i know its initial implementation and due to that its all about getting it functional and stable first, but when u get round to it, some resolution downscaling between eve and the pipe to twitch tv would be cool so we can keep our own preferred resolution and downscale it to keep twitch tv happy

I tried it and it failed totally. After entering in a name and password and pressing Start stream, the window shrank to a a smaller size and was filled with multicolored tiled mish mash. The client froze for about a minute then displayed

"Unhandeled page fault on read access to 0x0000140c at address 0x741c0b2b5"

I also tried telling it to use the same resolution as my screen. The window stayed the same size, but it still went weird, froze and had the exception. Even entering in a incorrect name and password cases the failure.

the thing is most of us broadcast in those resolution with out compromising our game play resolution. So if by streaming using the integrated feature affect our screen res and our gameplay none of us will be using it to stream and i dont think that would be good to build interest Roll .

i think you have a catch 22 problem here

Tried this out last night, everything worked fine from a technical standpoint, but the frame rate/stream quality was a bit of a disappointment from what I hoped for. Frame rate dropped significantly every time I rotated the camera. I haven't played with the third party streaming tools so I dont really have any means of comparison though. I'll post system specs but I dont really think that was an issue.

i7 920 @ 4.0GHz
2x GTX 460 in SLI
12GB 1600MHz memory
Windows 8.1 Pro x64
1 client at 1920x1200 in fixed window mode, second screen showing desktop
Internet is 100Mb/100Mb so I can't imagine that's a bottleneck on my end

tried testing this thing out multiple times - it can only stream for a couple of seconds before failing.

I'm trying different resolutions (all weird, cant do 1920x1080) but it just seems to log me out. I've tried making a new user account that correlates to the character being used but the username is already taken so no joy there

I was looking forward to this, even if its just for a giggle

System Specs
8GB DDR3 2100Mhz
i5 3570
nvidia GTX 560Ti
Windows 7 64

Screens 2x 23.5" Viewsonic 2365-LED 1920x1080

I hope this is fixable anyways, I know twitch can be a bit unstable in some parts of the UK though

about the resolutions: this is a good opportunity to build some forward-capability into this thing. leaving maximum resolution open-ended would be great, rather than setting 1080p as a goal--I'm currently using 2048x1536 per client, and what could be called 'mainstream' in terms of monitor resolution is beginning to move forward in a big way. this twitch integration could be dead out-of-the-box if you allow it to be limited at 1080p.

Thanks for your detailed information. Unfortunately we have had to disable twitch.tv streaming on the Mac due a technical blocker relating to how we emulate EVE on Macs. But we're looking into it.
